I'm new, just bought a 350z!

Hello all, I drove around 12 hours this weekend but it was worth it, as I am now the proud owner of a 2003 350z with 57k miles on it.

The car was down in Portland which is about 200 miles and I didn't know how to drive manual. I went down and looked at it, ended up buying it. A friend from Portland drove it home for me and I ended up driving him back to Portland the next day... lot's of driving.

I got a third party warranty on it just in case I burn up the clutch but after driving the past 2 days I'm not worried so much any more, I'm still riding it a bit to get going from a stop and in reverse but everything is great, I also learned not to try and shift into first while going above 5mph in this car (it doesn't like it, feels grindy / have to force it). I'm already used to how gearing works as I ride motorcycles (rev matching and when to shift / when to get power), it's just hard to eliminate my clutch-riding habits I have from motorcycles.

I'm going to wait a little while and then do some mods. I'm thinking tint and wheels for looks, and then maybe intake, exhaust, and a tune for some more performance. I'm perfectly happy with it as is though, some more acceleration would be nice but I only really do street driving.

First thing's first, I'm going to entirely look it over with a family friend mechanic and learn to drive manual a bit better.

warranty wont cover the clutch, it is considered a wear item just like brakes

congrats on the purchase

That makes sense, it shouldn't be too much to replace any way. At least it'll cover any possibly tranny damage?

should, but you have to read the fine print.

jwt clutch and flywheel is about $700 if you can do the labor yourself

Yeah, that's not too bad. I'm not even too worried about it anymore. I might wear the clutch sooner than most would, but I don't feel like I'm going to burn it out SUPER fast or anything instantly.
