HFC questions
So, I am new to this forum so I apologize if I missed something, I couldnt find a pre-existing thread similar to this. I have a 2004 enthusiast 350z and want to change out the cat to a High Flow Cat. Being 18 I am also on a budget. I see Magnaflow HFCs going for 80-100$ Should I steer clear (Ha) or are there any other budget oriented options? And finally would I need one or two? (once again I apologize for my ignorance) thank you

you would need 2, one for each side coming off the header. for the price you listed, they sound like you have to cut and weld.
the most popular ones are
-Berk
-aam
-kinetix
cheaper (get what you pay for)
-megan
-fast intentions
- store branded ones... Z1 and concept z have their own

The Magnaflow HFCs OP mentions at that price point are basic universal high flow performance catalysts, non-specific to Z and would require work to make them work in the same position as 350Z specific cats.
Magnaflow does offer specific fit HFCs for Zs too but they run over $1,200 for a pair.
Note: Not CA legal - and by that, presume that NY is not far behind on illegality.
