97 Vette to 09 Z

Just bought an 09 Silver Sport Package. Last owner added the complete Stillen High Flow Cats to the back and Cold Air. Car is a blast! Different animal from the Vette. It is more of a cat versus a gray hound. Small and quick versus larger but nimble. Both weigh about the same but the Vette feels like a boat and versus smaller 370Z. Of course the 97 Vette is 30 years old and is not up to the level of sophistication or technology. I am going to say the 370 is faster to the 1/8 mile but I think beyond that Vette would take it.

But this goes to show you the quality and how technology has come along with a N/A 6 cylinder stock only down 12 hp to the Vette now. Of course torque is about 80lbs less and where the Vette shines. But the 370 is a huge step up in tightness and handling.

Test Drove a lot of 350Z's and they are cool but to plastic or crude for me. Wanted to actually buy an 09-10 Audi TT but after driving a 370z I was impressed at how much better it was in all aspects to the 350 and narrowed my decision. Also I did not have put another 1000.00 on top of it to get the power and about another 3000.00 more buy the TT. For 4K less and same mileage the 370Z is a bargain.

Guess it's like the saying goes.... "Old beyond it's years." :icon17:

It was an interesting comparison that not many could provide first hand experience for. Good job OP and thanks for sharing. Ignore the cranky old guys...
