Coolant/ Overheating

So i recently just got my 2004 350z touring model a few days back and there was no check engine and everything looked mint however while i was driving it yesterday i noticed some gas from the engine bay and realized my coolant was leaking. Im thinking i would have to replace the water pump or bleed the system for any air but i'm not really sure. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not quite understanding, you noticed 'gas' as in fuel in the engine bay? Or perhaps you are miswording 'steam.' If it is leaking, you need to find out where, and fix the leak. Where is it leaking from? What led you to believe the water pump is the issue? There's not much info I can provide without troubleshooting the issue in more detail.

As for bleeding the system, this may be something you need to do, after you fix the leak. I would advise against driving the car, while it is leaking coolant, and possibly overheating. Alot of the troubleshooting that you can do, will depend on how mechanically inclined you are, and if you have the space to work on the car.

Sorry i meant that i saw some smoke from the bay which was a result of overheating which spurted out the coolant but how would i go on about exactly pinpointing the problem. And yeah i wont be driving it till i fix it

Found the culprit, turns out the radiator fans weren't turning on hence the overheating, it might be the relays or the temperature sensor if not ill have to replace the entire fan
