MPG?! What is the highest MPG you've sceen?!

Just curious the average of MPG's that people see in the pod on the dash? Highest I have seen mine go is 20.0 mpg's and that was when I was trying to get it high...

26.9 mpg on my 612 mile trip from Tennessee to Brunswick last week.

the dash is not very reliable, it says around 20-22 for mine, but someone here had a ridiculously high number

I got 32 mpg for about 200 miles while drafting a big rig on highway 5 (70 mph, completely flat, no brakes), in an attempt to get the best mileage I could in the Z. I was up at 34 mpg for a while until I couldn't stand driving 65 mph anymore behind the slow big rigs.

Realistically freeway only I get a about 27-28 mpg, mixed driving (75% freeway) is 23.4 mpg.

its not reliable at all. You can actually coast at the top of a hill to the bottom and get a reading like 99 or something. dont remember the exact # did it awhile ago but it was high

lol, i was thinking about starting a thread like this. i have a couple iphone picks of mine after coasting. have one that is 99.9 and a few others in like the 60's and 50's.

i'll try to upload them just for kicks.

i seem to average around 16 mpg tho :(

just caculate it the old fashoned way, I guarantee the trip mileage will always be higher!

Wouldn't this still make it somewhat accurate in relation to your distance traveled and gas used? If you're going 80mph at idle... that's damn good gas mileage.

LOL, well of course you can trick the meter temporarily like that-
reset it, coast down a hill and use the reading it gives you after 2 miles..
You have to take the mileage reading after like 50 miles to get something realistic.

If you drive it really hard after resetting it (autocross or something), you'll also get like <10MPG.. again, not realistic use.
