Talk to user $LiK RiK. He is making 4 or so of these to see if the Nismo community would be interested. He can even powder-coat them any color you want.

I would recommend what Nate did as well instead of anything else mentioned. Why would you waste $70 on the Stillen bracket, and then ruin a $40+ OEM tow hook by having someone cut it up and weld it to the Stillen bracket? I'm sure not too many shops will do that for free so you will be looking at over $100 wasted on a front plate bracket with everything said and done. The best solution is to use the tow hook mounting for the plate bracket so you don't have to drill anywhere. If you want to drill then just use the stock bracket that was supplied with the car. The Stillen bracket isn't made for the Nismo bumper so it don't work. I am working on creating a tow hook mounted plate bracket for myself for the Nismo. It won't be a ghetto bracket like the Stillen/OEM Hook fused option mentioned above. It will be a high quality piece made of aluminum. I just need to find some time to finish it up. If you guys are patient enough I will make more available once I have all the measurements, materials, and machining tools all figured out. |

First off , the lic plate holder sits about a !/4 of an inch lower than the bumper itself. NISMONATES idea with the L brackets is the FUGLIEST(ghettoize) thing I've seen in a while. I don't know what mountains you guys are climbing, but i have had this plate about
a year know an so far not a crap....Anything you could name i have gone through or around. Take a sharper angle at your driveway (speed bump) and you wont crap a thing. I will post some more pics at different angles.... |

That is way too low for clearance issues, and you have to drill and screw into your lip. Probably will get ticketed for it being mounted too low anyhow.

But... That plate is TOO LOW. I am on stock height, haven't lowered my car yet and I have to watch out not to f*ck up my lip. That plate is sitting lower than the lip so it's gonna be an issue. And second, here in Illinois that is deemed illegal because it less than 5" from the ground. I am sure other states require the plate to be more than 1" off the ground as well. |

Yes please :)
So I should be able to have a bracket completed by Sunday. I will try and post up some preliminary pictures as well. |

I am holding you to this, big spender.
I finalized the back plate that the license plate will attach to, and I cut the rod and threaded one end of it. I just need to drill and thread a hole on the other end so the back plate can attach to the rod. I will still need to take care of some small details, hope to resume tomorrow afternoon. First and foremost I set out to make this bracket for myself. Seeing how this bracket is a great solution for the Nismo, I will try and make a couple more for those that are interested. This isn't a mass produced item, it is something I make by hand starting from the raw material of a an aluminum rod and an aluminum plate to the final product. I work full time so this is something I can only do on my spare time. Once the first bracket is complete and I have all the pieces in place, I should be able to make a couple more of these at once. Here is a cell phone picture of the raw/unfinished bracket to get you an idea. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/19c0f001.jpg |

I'm going to try it out after my cars out of the shop, will likely end up getting an inch of length chopped out and rewelded. I just want like 1cm of space between it and the bumper :]
|
Since my temp tag runs out in six weeks - what's the cost for a pre-production once your prototype is perfected?
Or should I just take the pics to a shop to fab one up? |
