Midpipe upgrade options to OEM Nismo exhaust?
Hello fellow nismos,
I noticed that the OEM Nismo exhaust is similar to the OEM HR exhaust, besides the obvious difference in the muffler. I JUST recently added an Injen long tube CAI, HFC's, and a Tanabe Y-pipe. I'm looking to keep the stock muffler, but replace that midpipe. What are some options out there? ...Not happy with that hiss sound on deceleration with the HFC's. Maybe something to help drown this out? Much Appreciated! -NT |
Not sure. Might be able to have a shop fab something with a vibrant resonator.

There is no point in upgrading the mid pipe if the rest of the system is the same diameter.
You could cut out the resonator if you wanted louder but that will not net you any power. That looks like a knock off of the S-tune/fuji system. If your Y pipe is the stock diameter that will be a bottleneck. Also you paid for a Nismo and want to slap a 170 dollar pile of garbage on the back? Complaining about quality of sound but you want a knock off pile of crap? Just looked at that exhaust and the tanabe Y-pipe. You are using a 3" Y-pipe and feeding that in to a 2.25" pipe. I'm willing to bet that is a part of your sound problem. |
