I hear that a lot and economically speaking, there is almost a $60K gap between the Z and the GTR. There is room and if they aren't going to compete with the likes of Ford/GM (Mustang 5.0/Camaro V8). I guess for guys like me that have owned 2 Z's we want something with more ***** but cost less than $100K. Give it a 3.0 V6 and turbo charge the fawker like the old 300ZX, about 450hp. That is 100 less than the GTR, non awd and price it somewhere in the middle.

+1 Nissan has taken a giant step backwards with this nismo... It looks like a generic 370 now with an ugly a$$ body kit... Hate the wheels and where is the freaking spoiler? And to top it off they are offering it in an AUTO????!!!!! WTF I thought nismo edition cars were supposed to be for the track, not for a 70 year old mans garage...

I realized the minute they revived the Nismo 'brand' and didn't put any performance behind it to speak of that they were jut going to ***** it out and squeeze more profits out of their full range of vehicles. I guess that's why they tarted it up with those red accents...to make it appear to be more than it is.

That wouldn't be a bad play but IMO 400HP would be in keeping with spirit of the Z concept in that it never was meant to be a brute. The fact that Nissan didn't raise the power tells me they are being careful not to go there with the Z for more reasons than just stepping on the holy ground of the GT-R.

They followed through with nismo gtr, but skimped out on nismo 370,
no one wants it to be a brute but no one also wants it to be in the same bracket as a v6 mustang, the old Z was all about performance bargain - fighting the vettes and porsches at half the price.

I'll hold off my judgment until I see it in person. It looks interesting enough in the photos, but I feel like if I saw it up close the details may make the difference for me.

Terrible.
It looks to me as though they're trying to make the car more of a sports luxury vehicle. It looks nice, but not what I want from a Nismo, and the fact that my '12 Nismo has the exact same power specs, I'll not be trading up any time soon. Very disappointed.
They've lost touch with their target market; those of us who want a race car that's competitive or better to the other sports cars around the same price point. I fear they are ultimately doomed to fail by surviving simply off their heritage as their sales dwindle to obscurity until there is no more Z, and they end up going the way of other big name Japanese businesses that made poor decisions.

every single time a car manufacture comes out with a newer model, there are ALWAYS whiners of how it doesnt look as good as the current one. Then it all starts with people driving it and "Im loving it" happens.
it never fails...
Then they come out with newer model, here we go with the same circle of crying again...
It's not just nismo or nissan. It happens on every single car forum.

lol - actually, I kind of said that about the 370 when pics of it came out. I didn't like it a lot, but it's grown on me and I like the style of the car.
Same as my current Z. At first, I was skeptical but just kept reading and researching and seeing them around and finally bought one. Of course, it was only the second year of the Z33 when I bought mine, but the point is that some people eventually like or appreciate those new versions.
