Wideband for 03's

I been reading up on nitrous setups and now plan to accuire soon. My question is: Does the 03 Z's require narrow band air/fuel sensors or all Z's require widebands? Thanks

Wideband.

Z1 Performance Feb 9, 2009 05:16 AM

03/04's come with narrowbands from the factory

zex350z Feb 9, 2009 05:50 AM

Correct.

ALL cars come with narrowband O2 sensors. This is a 1 volt sensor that isn't accurate enough for specific air/fuel mixture readings.

You will need to install a wideband that is a 5volt sensor that can provide the information you are needing.

Seriously, three different posts with three different answers? lol

I haven't personally verified it, but my current knowledge is exactly what Z1 said.

:rofl2: @ the mismatched "answers."

03-04 350Zs have narrowband O2 sensors. 04.5+ have wideband O2 sensors (this wasn't what OP asked for, however).

If you want to install a wideband for your 03 Z to check your AFR, then you need a wideband (separate from factory sensors) to do so.

OP's question is asking about if the 03 Z needs a wide band for a nitrous setup. Our cars with a narrow band so a wideband is needed.

So pretty much a narrow band A/F gauge would prove inaccurate, better to just go ahead with wideband. I do only plan to spray 75 shot, would I even require a wideband a/f sensor? People say 75 shot is safe without anything else

given the low price of wideband gauges, it would be a wise investment
