There are quite a few of us. I live in Middletown. I go down the Pike once in a while but with all the police presence there now it isn't as much fun as it used to be.

As a matter of fact two years ago we held a big 350Z/G35 meet in Middletown and we had over 70 cars attend. We had some members from Canada come down and we took them to the Pike and 5 minutes after we parked to check out the cars cruising some cops came in and kicked us out.

We will have approx. 15 cars going up to the Cape Cod meet on May 14th if you would like to join us. This is going to be a great meet as we currently have over 75 cars registered to attend and we still have a month to go.
If you're interested, you could meet up with our group at the Mobil in Cromwell off Exit 21 on Route 91 (across from the Super 8 Motel) at 7:00 AM.

We are also planning a tuning meet at XXTuning in E. Hartford in late July. My car is there now getting an APS TT installed and my friend Jeff has his car on their showroom floor with it already installed if you ever want to stop by and check it out.

Hope to see you around and let me know if you'd like to go to the Cape with us so that I can add you to our list.
Vic

Cool.

I went by xxtunning and I saw the aps TT in the SS Z. I had a modded acura back in the day and they did most of the work to it. They were in wethersfield and called Acceleration Plus. They are good guys. I went in there and Danny (I think is his name.) Remembered me right off the bat and its been 4 yrs. I didn't reconize him.

Anyway I have been thinking about going TT. I saw a good deal on the APS kit on the internet.
I'll let you know about the drive up to the Cape. other than that no Zs meet up on the weekends?

I'm also from CT....I cruise on the berlin tpke, but my Z is not out on the streets yet! I will have her out probably the weekend of April 29th (or possibly the weekend before that)...
What color is your Z?
My name is Stacey btw.
If you cruize on the Pike, you may also want to check out thepike.net.
I'm sure I will see ya around if you are cruising in that area....if ya see me, stop by and say hi!

Hey Stacey, how's it going? Keep me posted on the meet you've been working on.

rxtrom - You may want to check with Danny as he just received a shipment of 11 APS TT kits. Tell him that you know Victor and Jeff and he'll give you a good price, trust me.

Stacey, I have been to that forum. Its kinda ruled by ricers & 5.0s. IMOP
I will try to be out there this weekend. I have not been ther in years. I live in Manchester, but have been away at school for the past 4 years. I drive a SS 04 Z

Vic. Thanks for the info. When I fanally nail down what I want to do about the turbo I will go see danny first. I want to try and make a sleeper out if it for now. keep the stock tires and body. I know I am going to have to do alot at once for the turbo b/c I have not modded it at all.

Another question, does anyone have any hookups with the local nissan service depts. As far as fixing modded Zs under warantee?

Thanks guys

Vic,
I've been good..busy but good!! Nice to hear from you. I am still trying to pin down the June date for that meet I am planning with a guy from the town of Berlin. I am hoping to hear back from him before I go away on vacation Friday of this week. That was my goal. If I don't hear from him today, I will putting in a call tomorrow. It's been a struggle, but once we get the spot secured, it should be a huge success. I can't wait for the Cape meet! And, browsing the site, it looks like that Palisades Park meet is on June 4th this year....do you plan on attending that one? If so, I'd love to caravan with you. Let me know! Hope all is well with you and Christian. Can't wait to see you guys. Keep in touch..

rxtrom,
yes, the pike.net is a little ricey, but, at the same time, you can get some good info on where ppl are meeting up locally. I will not be in the area this weekend, and probably not next weekend, but the end of April. So if you are out then, maybe shoot me a pm and we can meet up somewhere in that area. It would be nice to meet some fellow Z car owners! You should attend the Cape meet set for the 14th of May...looks like a great turnout. Great way to meet local Z and G owners.
Hope to see you around!

Also from CT, Stratford though about an hour from Hartford, but catch me on just about any saturday and I'm willing to drive anywhere. Keep me posted I need to meet more Z owners in the area.

Vics . . . XXtuning sounds like an honest good place but I haven't heard much first hand opinions. I'm planning on having them do some work soon, I'm getting my taxes done today, so once I pay whatever I have to I have a list of things I want done. What do you think?

If you want to stop by XXTuning one day and go over ideas, let me know as I can meet you up there and can invite some of my Z friends. I've had my Z now for almost 3 years and have seen just about every mod. possible to this point.

Stacey, Cristian is doing well thanks for asking. You'll see him on May 14th as he doesn't let me go to a meet without him. BTW, there is a girl named Holly from NJ that will be joining our caravan as well. It's great to see more female car enthusiasts.

I'll let you know if I'll be going to the Palisades meet once I see all of the details.

See you all soon.

Hey Vic, do you do any of those engine mods yourself? Maybe we all can hook up some where and borrow a lift and share mod knowledge.
I am mechanicaly inclined, but scared to touch the Z

I've done some basic stuff (Injen CAI, grounding wires, plenum change, etc.) but nothing major.

One of our members (whitetrack) was going to be doing a swaybar change at his house on his car and another member's car last month but it was too cold. I need to check with him to see when he will be doing this.

What do you have in mind?

rxtrom Apr 13, 2005 04:53 AM

I was just curious, mods are great to get but the labour kills it sometimes. Paying for the turbos is ok because thats a big upgrade + there is alot of tunning to be done.
Was thinking if there was someone around who knew what they were doing then some of us can save a little bit of money.

Vic did you have a clear bra? Did danny from xx tunning put it on?

I just had my bumper re-painted last week and Danny will be installing the clear bra in a few weeks as he will be on vacation next week. He will also be doing a custom film on my Veilside V1 lip. This should be the final thing done to my car before I bring it home. It's been there since February.

rxtrom Apr 13, 2005 09:55 AM

Did you paint it yourself? I have access to a paint/autobody shop. I spent most of my college breaks working there too. My uncle owns it. It is in madison CT. I am probably going to do the clear bra. I have also been looking at the single turbo kits. Turbonetics/APS. Whats your opinon on those?
I would like to check out yout TT when its done.

Also where do you guys work? I work at Phoenix in Hartford

I had it painted at European Motorsports in Middletown. It's good to know someone that has contacts with a bodyshop.

I can't judge the Turbonetics aganist the APS single turbo because they're too new to the market, however, based on what I've read what I like most about the APS system is that it will come with it's only fuel management system and it's pretty much a plug and play system. XXTuning is a vendor for both systems so you may want to talk to them about it.

XXTuning actually has 11 APS TT's and 7 APS exhaust systems in stock so they are really into APS.

I actually work in outside sales so I'm all over CT and western MA.

I'll be posting as soon as my car is ready but I've told XXTuning that it's gotta be ready before the Cape Cod meet on May 14th as this is a must attend meet for me.

Welcome to the forum rxtrom. I'm in Middletown as well. Hopefully we'll see you around.

We'll have a CT get-together at some point. Unfortunately I still don't have my car back. It looks like I'll be going down to the wire on this one as I told them it MUST be ready by May 14th as I'm not missing the Cape Cod meet.
