So yeah, I'm done
Some of you have been wondering where I've been hiding the past couple months, so here it is.
My motor blew about two months ago (or at least I think I did) and haven't had the time or patience to deal with it. I was going about 60mph on the Merritt, not boosting, when all of a sudden the front of the car sounded like a bat out of hell and wouldn't accelerate. There was no smoke, no oil pouring out, and no cracks on on the block. Oil looks good, car still cranks, but it sounds awful. I've had a few mechanics look at it and no one could give me a straight answer as to what's wrong with the block unless everything gets torn apart. So lately, I've been torn between fixing it, parting out, selling, or setting it on fire. I think I'm done with this thing. I've decided to part it out and move on to something else, unless someone wants to buy the car as a whole and getting it fixed on their time. PM me if you're interested. |
Sorry for your loss...
Bump for a great guy :::: I see a GT3RS in your future :::: |
A shame to hear you are done with the Z man. Yours was IMO by far the best looking in the north east.
Rear spoiler? |
Damn, guess you gotta pay to play though. Best of luck in whatever you end up doing. Car is gorgeous.
|
Jon this sucks.. i been down this road before.. really makes me mad i didn't just get a GTR instead..
oh btw.. i sent you a PM on that other thing |
Nooooo!!! honestly one of my fav Z's. Sucks you gotta be in this situation, good luck with the next proj.
If you def end up selling parts i've got my eyes on a few... |
Thanks guys. Yeah it sucks, especially when I only enjoyed the motor for less than 5k miles.
|
I really would like to find out some more details on it. I have seen pressure plates and clutches break and the whole engine sounds crazy. Have you done a compression/ leakdown test? How was the oil pressure?
Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. |
Finally man. Get rid of that ****. Everyones moving on in the NE.
Its honeslty not worth it anymore in my opinion. Unless i hit lottery, im out the game... |
Shame man, was a beautiful car... voted for it for the hottest in NE  What's next??

Ed (350_Rookie) took a look at the car. Maybe he can chime in?
If the car was in my garage, i would do inspections everywhere but i dont want to start dissassembling things and leave it. Considering im 1 hr drive from you... I say, drain the oil and if you find metal shavings/metal chips or any sign of damage, there goes your answer. |
damn damn damn - amazing redline.

i've always been curious to what you do with a blown up car. Just strip parts and sell to a junk yard?
after re-reading https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...-my-car-1.html sucks this was the final result! |

after re-reading https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...-my-car-1.html sucks this was the final result! However, I don't think the prior issues had anything to do with this. After the boost leak was fixed, the car was running better than before. Then one Sunday night I'm driving back home and BOOM. |
Dont jump to conclusions tho. Do a compression test. Its very easy and ill even guide you through it. Check the oil. If compression is good, oil is good, then keep smiling. Maybe it really is a clutch flywheel issue, who knows. You gotta take it to a shop tho.
btw. why ever happened with that tie rod. is it fixed. |
dam that was sucha nice car.. to bad.... mayb u should go subie if ur not goin with Z's no more....look good in summer and even better in the winter... win win...:D

im on my third motor and and third clutch, money pit ftl, smile on the face at full boost, priceless. i feel for you man. i cant believe you havent entrusted sharif at forged with your car. that shop is meticulous and i would have saved a lot of money sending my car to him the first time. in any case, good luck with whatever route you choose.
