Question first post ever - need a favor

Hi All,

This forum looks to be very well organized so hopefully I can get a good response from someone local.

Story is as follows: my girlfriend is shopping around for a 350Z - we found a beautiful manual trans 2006 example on ebay; only problem is it is ~400 miles away.

So this poses the question: anyone here that would let her drive your car?

She currently drives stick in her '99 Passat and she drives my Speed3 often.

If your car is stock(ish) that would be best; if it is an 06 that would be awesome, and hopefully since we're all enthusiats here will be an manual

Last thing - I'm near Philly, in Marlton (exit 4 off turnpike)

Yes, I know I can try to go to a dealer or look for one for sale and test drive it but before I go waste their time I wanted to try this route. Also it would be good to ask the owner some questions, things to look out for, etc.

I'd be down to throw you some Chipotle or other delicious grub for your time and if you're interested you can check my speed3 out. It is modded a little bit

few things man. first off welcome!

i dont see why she really needs to drive a Z before buying one. If she can drive stick in other cars she should be fine.

2nd, if u really do want her to then wasting a dealerships time would be better/easier for u then finding someone on here who loves their Z and will let not only a stranger but a girl drive their car.

good luck man.... i doubt someone here will do that for ya and not because were d*cks but because thats nuts lol.

go to a dealer or used car dealer with one and drive it.

I would honestly get an 07 if I were her. More power then the 06. but I am also a guy so I care about things like that. If you were near me i'd take her for a ride but no one drives my car.

Just get it you won't be disappointed.

find a used car lot with one on it and away you go on a jo...err 'test' ride

I would second the notion to get an 07-08 if you can, it is more refined, stronger engine, just a more polished car from years prior.

yah of course, i wouldn't buy that one based on a test drive of a local car, i just wanted her to get some seat time in a Z

yah this seems to be the route i'll end up taking

idk if the budget has an 07-08 in it

edit - she test drove the 2012 genesis coupe both the 2.0T and the 6cyl - she liked the 6 better
we also found a guy locally selling a 370 - might waste his time a bit this week

A fully loaded 2.0T and a few mods is a very nice combo.

that is what people said about the japanese when they started to compete with the germans. now look who sells more and makes a better car.

i think the koreans will out sell the japanese as they've grown smug and lazy (esp honda) and then everything will come full circle and the germans will start making cars that are useful beyond the first 36,000 miles

back on topic > found a dealer ~45min away, test drove last night a 2003 350z in sexy orange, 78k miles we've got it down to $11,500 right now + tax/title/$189 dealer fees

she's going back this morning to give them one last chance to get it to 10,999 and maybe coming back with it.

i drove it last night, felt good, quieter than i expected it to be.

oil pressure at idle was on the low side but still within spec and jumped up to over 60 during driving.

it did feel slow, but i know how to fix that =P

it's funny because after asking for a test drive now i'm gonna be asking people to try their short shift kits
