I'm wondering if you happened to figure this out yet? My clutch actually makes a very very similar noise (it's probably the same thing). When I bought it in January the seller told me it had a newer clutch but didn't know what brand and didn't have any paperwork or anything for it. I haven't had any problems with shifting at all. Just the noise. It's quite loud at first but after driving for half a mile it's quiet (unless I let it warm up before driving then it's quiet). Clutch work is not on my list of things to work on any time soon.

My slave cylinder went out, thats why I lost pedal pressure. I asked exedy, they said it shouldn't be making that noise. Once I replace my cylinder, I will see if it still makes that noise. It might not have been engaging all the way when I stepped on the clutch since my slave was going bad, so maybe that's why it was squealing. I'll post back once I replace it.

Got some photos of my dad's new car. Lifelong dream car for him. (Had to lower the quality to upload to this forum sadly)

Damn that thing is nice...

Craig I was wondering today if you have the osiris standard or the tuner version. I'm still thinking about getting the standard.

Picked up more wheels for Natalies beetle. Starting to look like a parts warehouse around here again. Its not like there is a collective parts room, they are just scattered everywhere

That's how a 20-something's apartment should look lol

In other news, I was home for two days taking a mental break before finals start. In the time I got the new plugs, injectors and Kinetix manifold installed. Just need to do the catch can, fuel pump and boost gauge for supporting work and then of course the whole Vortech setup. Will resume Tuesday after hell

The supporting mods are the most time consuming by far

Some dude might buy the hatch for $400... Car might be back to stock by the end of the month... Then ill have my spare bedroom back. These things take up a lot of room.

Well time to update the group with my confusion.

Last friday my car started having what felt like a misfire. It would just sputter for a second and then go back to driving perfect again. So I assumed it was plugs and coils so I was ambitious and bought all new plugs and coils and swapped them out.

Turns out that wasn't the issue. So I cleaned my MAF to see if that was the issue, it was not. So I swapped my MAF with a friends to see if that was the culprit, it was not. My fuel pressure stays spot on at 40psi when the car is acting up and when its running perfect so I don't believe it to be a fuel pump.

And I don't think its the motor going out, because when it does act up I can go WOT and it sputters for a second and then does a great pull as usual.

And the more confusing part is that it didn't act up at all yesterday. So we shall see what today brings.

No codes? Just running funky from time to time?

Maybe one of your fancy injectors is malfunctioning?

I'm still just as confused about your issues as I was the other day.

Today already involved a lot of driving. To Craig's to get the NWP 75mm TB, to R/T Tuning to get my base map put on my ECU and pick Vince's brain about a few things and then drove to New Jersey to sell some parts.
Now time to pull plugs, gap them down and start installing the TB and Vortech intake piping.

We all are surprised your issue isnt a rod through the side of the block.

I wouldn't mind if that was just the issue. At least then I would know.

And I thought about injector too but that just seems very unlikely to me. Typically an injector would be bad when its new, not 4k miles in.

Well you eliminated the spark plugs, and the coils, and the mass air flow sensor... What else could it be? You got any mice eating at your wiring harness?

I don't think its the fuel pump because when it is and is not acting up my fuel pressure is very stable at 40psi. I still think its unlikely to be a fuel injector. Definitely don't have mice, my car gets moved too frequently for that

No idea, its hard without a code but by your description I would think an injector would be the next culprit on the list.
