rims debate
ok, I have a tough dilema on my hands. i want a set of rims for my car, but the ones i had my heart set on are 2 months out So, I have narrowed it down to just the volk line. GTC, GTV, GTS, SF CHALLENGE. Really want black, so it will look good with my blacked out windows on the greystone car. Want a big polished lip as well. Don't know anything about offsets (no brembo's), and lowered about 1/2 inch. Any suggestions from the locals?

GT-V and GT-S are my favs of that list. Biggest lips out of your choices. I don't think the GT-V comes in black, does it? I don't recall ever seeing that. I think there are a couple sets of Diamond Black GT-S for sale in the classifieds.

GTV was the one that i wanted, but will take a while, yes you can get it in black. Now i'm leaning towards teh GTS rims. I think I will probably change my rims out more than alvin LOL.

ok, bought a set of gloss black volk GTS off wheelautohaus today. 19x9.5 +17 front, 19x10.5 +18 rear. My car is lowered 1/2-1 inch. Now, All I need is tires. Decided to go with Toyo T1r's, but don't know how wide i can go without rubbing. Anyone have a similar set-up that would know? Thanks in advance. Never know, maybe I will become good enough for Andy at performance nissan one day, since no other car in the NW is good enough for him.

Good choice of rims dude! if you have 9.5 and 10.5s, I would go with 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 back. That's what I have on my sf challenge and love them. 30 series on back gives you about same height on both front and back sidewalls. Which I liked. Fat lip look=Sexy but watch out for them curbs!
I also got +20mm offset on front and back but 2mm difference is like an 1/8 of inch. Won't make much difference.
1/2 to 1in drop will be absolutely no problem with fender. My car is pretty slamed(1-1/2in. drop) and still no rub.
GTS came out right after I ordered my sf challenge. If I knew, I might've gone with GTS. Can't wait to see them!!

I personally run 275s as there is a lot of room for them, but I've got a buddy down in kent that likes 285s in the Toyos, no less.
I'm currently running GSD3s, and I think I actually like them better than the T1s, but it's probably a wash all around -- both do well in the rain.

I'm lowered 3/4" and I can run (and autoX) 275/35-18 (18x9.5 +30mm) tires up front. They just barely clear nicely, no rubbing or contact anywhere even under full suspension compression at full wheel lock. I can run 275/40-18 (18x10.5 +30mm) in the rear but there's still a bit of room left. I think a 305 width tire would be the limit for the rears w/o fender rolling.
