I'm looking for a pair of OE cats - Local

I'm looking for a pair of OE catalytic converters that fit a 2006 350Z.
Cheap as possible since they are for limited use.

I need them for the drag strip next season when I run the nitrous.
I want to gut them and just bolt them on for race day, and switch back to OE afterwards.

They can be good or bad, as long as there are no holes in the body.
Broken welds are okay, as long as I can fix them.
Missing or broken honeycomb is even better. Save me time.

Portland/Vancouver/Salem area.

IM me if you have something.

Thanks,
Gary

I have mine. They work perfectly; they're high mileage though but that shouldn't matter for what you're doing. Looks like they go for anywhere from $100-$200 in the MP. How's $100 sound?

Is it a track requirement to have cats if you run nitrous?

I don't know if 05 will fit on a 06, but I got some sitting in my garage.

In a recent thread, we were talking about how there have been a rash of catalytic conversion thefts. Thieves are climbing under cars/trucks and cutting off the cat/s. Apparently these things go for $100+ each at the recycling places, wherever those are. So since we have 2, does that mean they net you $200 at the recyclers? Pretty crazy.

That's why I rock test pipes.

I actually never knew that, well I guess if a cop pulls me over and notices i don't have cats i can just say I got rid of them because of the catalytic thieves. :icon21:

.. to which they will respond, you're still breaking the law :)

No, but instead of taking a chance of getting pulled over on the way to/from the track with test pipes, I'm just going to gut a pair cats and use them.
I already blew out one cat with the nitrous. =)

Yes,the 05 will work.
I believe Sno's are from an 03, so I'm not sure if they will work.
How much do you want for the pair?

Ruff Z Oct 30, 2008 02:14 PM

Hey Gary, I have a set of hi-flow cats that are already collapsed that you could buy from me. The hi-flow cats themselves are street legal.

Yes, mine are 2003. No clue if they would work for you or not.

garym Oct 31, 2008 06:26 AM

Hmmmm,
So many choices.
$50 is a good price. I'll have to check if I have a customer (parts store) in that area that could make the exchange for me if I decide to go that route. I'd just send them the cash, and they'd trade you at the store.

I'm curious how much Adam wants for his HFC's first.

Sno's may work, but I believe I'll have to add an additional O2 mount to each of them.

garym Nov 3, 2008 06:30 AM

Hey Ruff,
I sent you a PM about those HFC's.

Ruff Z Nov 5, 2008 04:08 PM

Replied, sorry for the delay!
