The won't give me an alignment

I tried going to a firestone to get their lifetime alignment, but they said it doesn't cover vehicles that are lowered and have 19" rims.

Should I even bother getting an alignment?
I just bought new tires.

They may have a point on the lowered suspension, but that's BS on 19" wheels that's oem size for many like my G35.

I get alignment every time I get new rubber. Potholes on these crappy Cali roads can throw your alignment out for sure.

Sorry to hear that bro. Where's that firestone shop anyway? Coz I had done mine in their Fremont location, utilizing their lifetime warranty.
My Z is lowered as well(1") with 19" wheels. Thing was, it couldn't get on the ramp without hitting my front lip. So I scouted the area and found a construction site nearby. Picked up some boards and laid them down before the ramp. I told them to keep those boards for other lowered cars.
Tip: Search for firestone coupon online. I got a $10 discount.:thumbup:

go to a different firestone. mine was lowered at the time and it wasnt a problem.

JDMautoworks Feb 10, 2009 08:21 PM

OR try Sonic MS in Mountain View........they can do it as well

@sid67jp
I tried the one in Campell. The Sale Associate was a total a$$ too!

@zhuangzi
Which firestone is this?

@JDMautoworks
Thanks! I'll give them a call.

Yeah bring some 2x4's with you when ever you go for a alignment. I had to do that with my srt4 that was low.

UY350Z Feb 11, 2009 03:38 AM

Take it to Auto Innovation in Milpitas. I had many lower car in the past, and a even lower car as of right now then i ever had it (G35 Coupe) , and they had no problem taking car of me...

zhuangzi Feb 11, 2009 06:06 AM

it was a Firestone in Sacramento. i'd say just call up random firestone locations until you find one that says they can accommodate lowered vehicles. the lifetime alignment is totally worth it though, fwiw.

AC350 Feb 11, 2009 07:32 AM

well, alot of shops wont do the lifetime alignment because they figure that if your lowered you will be changing your ride height frequently. which would cause you to have to align the vehicle more often then a stock height car. there are shops that will do the alignment like most Les Schwabs and Wheel Works, but you gotta find a way to get on there racks. When i worked at Wheel Works we used the wood plank method. We just couldn't warranty the alignment.

TheOtherRob Feb 11, 2009 08:24 AM

^ I have only heard places around here deny the lifetime alignment only if you have coilovers since they know that you would just keep adjusting it and expecting free alignments afterwards. But if you have lower springs they cant say anything really...

Changvi Feb 11, 2009 08:41 AM

Bring your car to Auto Innovations. No questions asked, and they will do the alignment for you.

DEMoLITIoN Feb 14, 2009 12:32 AM

les scwab charges ~$80 for lifetime alignment. lowered friendly.

zhuangzi Feb 15, 2009 02:00 PM

Last time I went to L.S. they said I couldn't have my own specs, but I bet that was probably bull. I'm getting an alignment again right now at firestone.

Lifetime alignment FTW!
