Given the damp conditions...pretty good runs. How good are the STR S2000's at UFO? Looks like they were pretty close, but that is not surprising given it was wet.

Awesome Shamu. Now I would encourage you to plan on the SCCA event on the 13th, I'll be there!

Glad I wasn't DFL this time around

The plan is to have real tires at the next event, along with front/rear hotchkis sway bars, but other than that the suspension is currently completely stock and will be for a bit.

I've gotta decide if I bother with suspension first, or a diff. Based on Sunday's runs I'm thinking the diff may be the first.

For this first set of tires, whatever I can find that fits on 18x9.5 18x10.5. Ultimately I will try to go 295/305 or 315 if I can make them fit under the car. I'm a believer in bigger is better in tires (i'm the guy who always ran 275 17s on the stock wheels)

No disagreement on the VLSD, I know from years of experience, and was kindly reminded on Sunday

Looks like you guys had a good time - I'm bummed I couldn't make it! I'm thinking about mixing it up with you both in BSP, which I think means I'd have to re-install some type of door panel (you guys know better than I do) since I was planning on running in BSP.

It also looks like all the big dog Evos moved into SM, which is good for anyone else trying to stay competitive in BSP.

Scott, I don't know what all you have done to your car, but I'm pretty sure the hood alone isn't BSP legal. Why am I thinking you also have FI?

Bah, it is an aftermarket CF hood made by TopSecret. I've never been FI though. I talked to someone early last year that seemed well-versed in the subject, and he seemed to indicate that if I put something that could count as a door panel, it would fly; maybe he missed the swapped hood. All my other stuff is pretty basic. No internal engine work, stock headers, etc. My full mods are listed in my profile though.

Scotts car could probably squeeze into SM if he puts interior back in. But he would need a blower on that motor to be competitive in that class. BSP only allows fender flairs. No fiberglass or CF hoods. SM allows that stuff.

Wow! The 370Z Nismo put the hurt on all of the XP and SM EVOs too with exception of Josh by only a tenth of a second! I would have thought wet damp day would put the 370Z at disadvantage against those cars.

I guess what I heard is true. Mitsubishi makes good TV's and Nissan makes race cars.

That makes sense, so it looks like I'll stay in SM2 this year. I think the Evos are in SM as 4-door sedans, and the 2-door Z will run in SM2 / SSM, no? I may splurge for some F/I later in the year if Uncle Sam is nice enough to me.

Scotts, you are correct, SMM/SM2 is probably your best bet right now.

Shamu, gonna send you a PM here in a moment

I got a ride in a F/I Z car the other day. Wow! I'd love to see a SM class Z with huge flares and tires and blower run in that class. While you'd be heavy you can get a ton of usable HP out of these motors.

I'm very tempted to go F/I on my car but I want to do suspension and drive train right first.

Maybe I'll go turbo or supercharged when I sell my rat pack Porsche Boxster. But no one seems to be in the market for a stripped 2000 lb FP Boxster at the moment.

How many cars do you have on course at a time? I think they use all those cones to help keep newbs going the right way while running 3-4 cars at a time.

Totally dependent on the course/venue. Sometimes 2.......other times 4.
