Norcal UFO school is on MARCH 19th. Their next autoX is Feb 27. Hopefully I will have new tires by then--these high treadwear no-names are so frustrating. Thinking about mixing new Star Specs with 50% RE-050A's. What do you guys think? If I'm able to get the RE's the deal will be screaming, otherwise I'll splurge on 2 more SS's.

I will likely run SCCA too. Sort of sucks to run with them in 370z in indexed class as I have to run ASP until SEB formally classifies the car in BSP. I have approval from UFO to run BSP as it's likely to happen this year and they agreed the car is more aligned to BSP cars.

My new OS Giken LSD and HFC are in and will be installed next week. I'm having issues with tire/wheel setup. Can't find anything other than 10.5x18 and 9.5x18 wheels. Leaves me with slight setup dilemma as 315 is a little too big for 10.5 wheel so thinking I will run 295 rear and 285 front. Then evenriall move to a 12x18 and 10x 18 eventually. But long lead-times on bigger wheels that have proper offsets where I don't have to use spacers. I hate spacers and want setup that allow me to not have to carry spacers with me.

I may have SPC adjustable arms this next week as well.

Looking real hard at JRZ RS silent coil overs. I like the fact they came out with more quiet version for us street car drivers. Now I have to justify the nearly $5500 cost! Ouch!

Still have to figure out how to lower my seat a little so O have better driving position.

315 too big for 10.5" bah! My next set of rubber will be 315 A6 hoosiers for my 18x10. The Kumho 305 on there now are way too small

Too small? Are you just spinning the inside tire? How'd it go today?

I'm a believe in big tires Though the 305 710s stacked up (when mounted on the wheels) are only about 1" taller than the 265 Azines stacked (un mounted)

Went alright today, another fun day at least. Still have a long way to go to get the car prepped.

Saw the results on SF SCCA....not bad. Suspension + LSD = easy class win from the looks of it. Some work to do on pax win though.

That's why I'm happy to be in SF. In STL it was easy to get the Pax win (I think in 08 in my SS Z06 I only failed to get PAX win at 2 out of 6 events that year). SF will give me a lot to gauge myself against and hopefully force me to improve.

That or I'll go nuts and hate autocross

I am in the same boat here in D.C. It's difficult regardless of region to get a pax win in a Z with the BSP ratio.

I think you will have decent challenge once season is in full swing. So Cal events are great too. They have awesome tour event in San Diego and Pro Solo at El toro. The So PAC divisional at El toro draws a big crowd as well. Suspect you will find those events a challenge. AAS events also tend to attract many national caliber drivers. You need to do Dual at De Anza too that's a one of a kind event.

So you think no issue with 315 on 10.5 wheel? I'm still new to this big tire on small wheel thing in ax.

Size wise I don't think there will be a problem, will it fit under the car without a spacer? That's the question. I'm running a spacer (not sure on size, 10mm works though) up front on my car with the 18x10" +38 305 710s. Rears are fine, might take 10mm for a 315 though.

Here are my videos from today. Check out the first one, watch for the strip I lay down and smoke that comes up from that damn crappy vLSD.

Man, I miss those wheels and tires already! Thankfully I have a set of A6s on the way though!

Are the overall results posted up and/or do you recall what the SM2 cars ran? I'm curious how they compare against you, as I assume we would be close in times yet my car classes in SM2.

Keep us posted on the SCCA events that you plan to head to - maybe I'll buddy up to really get a barometer of my car/driving. I forget - will we see you at UFO in two weeks? I will also be there for their 2-day event in March.
