here's a question that must be asked...
 

although it may be a dumb one.

so today i turned on my cd player and the screen for no reason showed "EJECT." Then "PUSH EJECT." normally when i turn my cd player on it starts playing whatever cd that's in there. but today i got these messages.

so i do what it says. but NOTHING happens. the cd player doesn't do anything and won't eject either!!! the radio still works fine. but the cd player doesn't respond. i know something is wrong...

but does anyone know WHAT is wrong? is this an electrical problem or a physical problem where the eject arm is broken? and if it is, how much might it cost to fix or replace the player? ('05 G35. BOSE system).

any ideas?

your cd player is ****'ed up. Some of my friends had the same problem with the oem bose unit. Finding a used replacement would be the cheapest option. Or, you can also go with an aftermarket unit.

Omg. Sounds like a cheapo sound system for Infiniti to die out after 5 years. My brothers' 1999 Prerunner sound system is still good after all these years! I'm so disappointed in Infiniti right now. Beshoff quoted me around $570 for replacement and install. Conveniently I'm out of 48 month warranty and at 60,544 mi. Amazingly I wonder if it was engineered to die out near this time, just like my right headlamp conked out last month. Things don't last forever, but com'on infiniti talk about cheapo engineering. Urgh! Disgusting to know that.

you said it, "Things don't last forever". Also, there is also a marginal error even i nthe best engineering process. If I were you, I'd look for a used unit for cheap, and proceed with the replacement as a DIY.
