I'm new to DSLR cameras.... please help
 

I got a Nikon D50 and really like the camera but I'm having a few problems....

First:

when I take pictures at nite time..... all the time the images are blurry... why?

Second:

When i take pictures for example a closeup to an ant... or a flower the camera does not shut the picture.... why?

Third:

I will like to take pictures at nite time and on the picture you see like the lights are moving but the car is still.... How?

How to take multi shots....?


got the camera use and i have no manual to read......


If any one is in NY area I will like to teachme I will pay for it

To answer your questions...

1.) your pictures are blurry at night because you have your camera probably on automatic mode and to make a correct exposure the camera compensates for the lack of light by extending the time of exposure. To make it less blury bump up the ISO and switch to manual mode.

2.) The camera will not take the picture because it is not in focus. I'm sure you have a kit lens with the D50 and there is no way you will be able to get a full frame picture of an ant using a simple kit lens. That requires a high end macro lens with an apeture of 1.4 or 2.8 (Very large opening). But any way you'll just have to take a step back till your lens can focus.

3.) Not to be rude or mean but if you have questions about how come your shots are blury at night you shouldn't even attempt this. I'm a photography major in school right now and this is extremely complex. You need to know what your doing and how to manipulate your camera in terms of ISO, shutter speed, and apeture in order to get the look your going for in your pictures. And thats not even mentioning you'll have to come up with some sort of mount that will attach your camera to your car, that way the car remains in focus.

To answer all your questions: instruction manual. It will point you in the right direction.

lol...I just started a thread about how I just read that exact book. It is definitely a book to have.

rofl. perfect example of someone that got a dslr because they look cool.

Step 1) go to barnes and noble on your weekend, self help section, pick up 2-3 books on how to operate a camer, read through them.

Step 2) go outside with your camera for 3 - 4 hr with the manual and take a picture even if its of the the same exact thing changing EVERY setting, so you can see what the hell is going on when you change the aperture, exposure, make notes if you have to.

Step 3) start transmitting what you learned to taking photos.



DSLR cammeras have gotten cheaper that is for sure and they can take amazing photos, but if you don't know WTF you are doing they are just an expensive gift that will collect dust. if you give me a decent point / click i can probably take some good shots and make them look amazing.
