nice. I'd love to get my hands on a 200mm F2.8.

Finding a mkI is the way to go. Other than the semi-irritating built-in hood, it's no different then the mkII for half the price.

I have a really sharp M42 mount Vivitar 135mm F2.8 that has a built in hood...you're spot on about them being semi-irritating...It could really use being 1/2 to 3/4 longer.

stu46 Feb 28, 2009 01:33 PM

Yup. Too short to be effective and don't always stay in place. But for the price, you can't beat it.

Nice lens man! Where'd you pick it up?

stu46 Mar 1, 2009 09:07 PM

Local. Traded my Tokina 11-16 for it. It's the big brother to the 135L. I can't tell any difference in IQ or bokeh between the two.

Bubble Mar 2, 2009 08:49 AM

awww...you get rid of your 11-16? that was one of the lens i love the most. Super wide with super quality.

stu46 Mar 2, 2009 09:49 AM

Got me a 5D and going the prime route. Got my eye on the 35L next.

I've got the 135:) just not sure if the 85L focus is fast enough for my daughter.

I don't think it's quick enough. Maybe when my daughter is older. She's only 10 months.
