I imagine both of your fobs and batteries are the same age. Check the voltage. If it's 3V or less, replace. Might save you some headaches.

Use copper spray. No rtv and definitely no ****ing grease. Replace the **** Phillips bolts with Allen bolts. Look up :vq35hr eps timing gallery kit" on Google. They specifically make a kit for this.

No. The "mechanism" that I bent was the clasp that holds the end of the emergency release cable onto the trunk latch. It came out of the clasp so I put it back and re-bent the clasp to hold the end...
