I found a set of Cosworth pistons/rings/pins going for a very good price over here, so the rest of the parts I will still need...

Just the raised ones (RH) for ex.
Could be something someone else has done for id, or yeah may not be oem.

Because iirc their instructions were wrong,if you look at the OEM bushings the thick larger bushing...

If you're just driving around a city and take it easy, it probably doesn't matter.

Erased trouble codes and drove.

It doesn't matter how many modifications you put on the car, the ECU will do the compensation which is why we have to get it remapped to see any benefits.

Nope, don't use a rotory for a beginner - you've no experience from what I can gather, and it's the most risky one to use, heat builds up quickly and you'll either burn through of take off too much....

It's worth coating some parts in POR15 or whatever similar product you like. That's what I use over here in the UK, and we get horrid wet weather and salty roads in the winter.
