^^^ Like Mic said, transmission is the only notable difference. My 03 grinds into 3rd gear when cold, but it is more than manageable and has not gotten worse in the 6 years I have owned it.

Your best bet is taking off all of the arms yourself if you have the means and bringing them somewhere. Not quite sure which bushings you are replacing, but its mostly just the dissassembly/assembly...

I have a Viper 5901. It is definitely pricey but has an LCD display on the remote that will go off when anything happens. Very good alarm, not to mention a really nice convenience.
