Default 350z ECU Check Engine Light

I have a 2003 350z which was disconnected from its battery for 2 months due to getting body work after a minor accident. The car runs fine and sounds fine, not internal components were affected in the accident only my front bumper and hood. The car has a check engine light and the code comes up with the "ECU" code when i had the code read. (i don't have the actual code because i forgot it; Autozone looked it up in their book and said it was due to my ECU. I have heard of ECU reflashing but didn't want to go through 130$ to find out it has nothing to do with a reflash. I've also tried resetting it via ignition/stepping on a pedal and blah blah. any one have any past experiences to help me?

My friend, no code, no help. Sorry, but we're not telepathic. Take the car to any suto parts store and have it read again, but write it down this time. Better yet, spend $20 and buy yourself a code reader.

If it's a code related to the ecu and it's been unplugged i bet it's P1065. This commonly happens when the z has been unhooked for a while. You can clear the code and it shouldn't come back.

Yea my car threw codes too after I unplugged it.

Mine was the MAF and some other bits. Appariently it's common for these cars to throw codes when unplugged for a period of time. Like you I was told to just reset the ECU and no codes have been thrown since.

I had 4...

Yeah. It usually takes around 25 - 30 miles for the ECU to complete the 'readiness check' after being reset..
