Default Have stock nismo, want it louder.

How is everybody doing today? First off, i wanna clarify that i did search for my solution on here and the internet for a good bit and didnt see what i was looking for, so if theres a thread that covers this... link me to it? Cool! Now if there isnt, ive got a stock nismo which correct me if im wrong comes with just a nismo muffler, or i think some call it an axleback?🤔 Anyways, its a little quiet, and i was wondering if anybody knew of a way to make it a little louder without buying a catback system completely? Maybe hfc's or a test/mid pipe? Not that i wanna butcher my exhaust😅 just dont wanna spend a whole lot if i dont need too.

Heres what sparked this thought. https://youtu.be/RTPxspuIhEo

I know, i know, backpressure and such. Id get a tune if needed haha.

Anyways, thanks guys!

Fair enough. It was a far shot, but i was hoping that id get something that "blank" pipe hooks right up and is a good investment. Oh well, looks like a radio is the only thing im listening to for now😂

Honestly the best is to wait until you can afford it or a good alternative is to keep an eye out for used parts. A used set of ART pipes shouldn't be so bad. Welcome BTW =)

For the $$ and butt dyno, get rid of the catalytic converters (test pipes or HFCs) they are very restrictive. You'll feel the mid range really improve as well as mitigating the natural tapering off the HP curve towards the redline.

By saying you have the nismo exhaust, do you have the s-tune? Or do you have the exhaust that came stock on the nismo 350z? If the latter, than you have a stock exhaust with nismo tips.

If you have the s-tune, you will crack your y-pipe with test pipes, as I just went through this. MD XYZ solved this issue.

if you have the oem nismo, I would say test pipes would be fine, depending on how loud you want.

I have the AAM test pipes and the quality is great.

I would also look into Z1 test pipes or hfcs, and I think they have resonated and non-resonated test pipes.

My current setup sounds incredible. No regrets here.

Sorry i didnt reply sooner, yeah its just the stock tips. Are they really just tips? I was told it was basically a whole muffler system that nismo made😅

The OEM Nismo is identical to the OEM HR exhaust. the only difference is the Nismo tips. The piping is exactly the same.

If you have a DE or Rev-Up 350Z, than the HR exhaust is still somewhat of an upgrade with the HR Y-Pipe. I recommend keeping this setup and adding test pipes or HFCs. Just make sure you buy the correct ones for your car. Anything after the cats fits on all years 350Zs. Headers and cats are specific to the engine you have.
