Good afternoon everyone, Ive been on this site on and off for a while, I even have posts about a 350z I had being built by a shop a while back. They promised a 2 week turnaround for a fully built motor and twin turbos. That car has been at savage street cars for about 2 years now, so I've basically given up on it. I'm looking at purchasing another z now and this twin turbo z came up. The owner is asking 7500 dollars, but the car is overheating after running for more than 10 minutes or so. What do you guys think for the car at this price? I plan to buy it while I'm home on leave and then having the motor built by a different shop when I head to work. I already have a daily so I'm not as worried about the reliability, I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience with this type of issue.

It isn't done, nor do I think it'll ever even be done honestly. That's basically why I gave up on it, I'm pretty sure by the time they get their **** together I'll be out of the marines already.

Wait you already have a Z at a shop, and said screw it keep it?

Over heating is probably just due to a bad tune or air in the system. Maybe a clogged cooling system.

But like Trav said I don't but people head aches. Project cars and people broken ares are completely different things.

From the looks of the reviews, the shop closed down. 1.9 star rating and loads of complaints of incomplete builds and broken builds.. People out $5,000+. If I was OP I would literally catch an assault charge real quick. Here's just a few reviews.


EDIT: After reading your two original posts of a TT build and buying a second Z for N/A build and after reading this
​​​​​Post below, I do not think you should buy a Z, or any performance car for that matter. You appear to dream big, do no research on the shop you send your car to, and lose an immense amount of money and time. Your TT build was 5 pages of wasting people's time.

IF you do buy a Z, do not buy this z you are talking about purchasing. Buy a stock, lower mileage Z for about $7,000-$9,000 depending on condition, trim and miles and KEEP IT STOCK! You're soo worried about power yet from reading your posts you haven't even gotten to experience the thrill of a stock Z for more than a couple of weeks. Buy a stock Z, enjoy it for a year or two, find a reputable shop in that time and then go modify it.

After shopping around and weighing my options I've just decided to go with a clean stock z I found with 81k miles. And savage street cars didn't close down exactly they work out of another shop now.

I don't get the rationale of just leaving a car at a repair shop and giving up on it. With the law on your side, this is a no brainer. They have YOUR property and all it takes is for you to go and pick it up and if there's any bishin', a call to the state agency that overlooks auto repair shops. (EVERY state has one.)

Nahhhh.... there's gotta more to this than the OP is letting on. Straight up situations don't end like this.

You need to go to where they are now and ask them what the hell they did with your Z, and if they don't give it back you're gonna cause a ruckus up in this joint.
