Knoxville Z's Weekend Drives
 

We are trying to set up a monthlyZ run through the Dragonor sorrounding roads every month on a particular weekend. Right now we are thinking the third or fourth weekend most probable Sunday. If interested or have any opinions post here. We are also putting same invitation to G35frenzy and also 350Z frenzy and maybe others. We should be able to go two more months before the driving season is done. Maybe if anyone interested beyond that we will pick it up next year.

I'm interested. Keep me posted.

We are going to meet in the Lowes Parking lot out Alcoa Highway which shares its parking ot with Wal-Mart. We will meetat the end of which should be plenty big and not cause anyone any problems. We are planning to meet there at 10 o'clock.

Ok here is the update.

On Sunday the 21st of October we will be leaving the Lowes Parking lot on US129 (that's in Maryville, TN. about 10 minutes south of Knoxville). We will head south on 129 until we reach a large enough turn off (depends on number of cars) at the foot of the Dragon. After everyone takes a stretch and sort we will hit the second leg of trip that up the Dragon. The second leg will end at Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort where everyone can get snacks, a drink, use the restroom etc. Our third leg will be a short trip to Fontana Dam for pictures etc. We are still travelling on US129. The third leg of the trip is in NC and not hardly patrolled. (Never seen police on that side but regardless be careful). The fourth leg will continue to travel 129 until we reach 74 and the travel east toward Gatlinburg. We will travel 74 til we get to 411 which will take us into Gatlinburg. There we can choose to eat shop or head down a little further to Pigeon Forge. The last bit of the trip will either be to continue north on 411 towards Knoxville or hit I 40 west toward Knoxville

Hope you can ride with us It should be a blast. As soon as I actually find out actual distances i will post them but i am pretty sure the entire trip should be a little less than 150 miles.

Sorry guys, I have to cancel. I cut my hand yesterday while working on the atv. I should have gotten stitches but didn't. So my hand is all wrapped and I dont want to risk the drive. I do plan to make the next trip.

Sorry to hear about the hand - we catch up next time - where do you live in East Tennessee? Feel free to suggest where to ride, I know the Snake is one plan, the Cherohola Pkwy another, maybe some between K-town and Crossville. Get well quick!

Well as far as I know, There are going to be 6 cars with 4 of them Z's. Haven't heard from the fellow in the S2K in a while but we shall see.

Enjoyed the ride everyone - couldn't have had better weather. Attached some pictures, you can tell I am no photographer. Apologies to the S2000 for being late to the meeting spot...hope you will join us next time. Only 2 LEO's on the Dragon - 1 heading out to a call on 129 toward Maryville (before the Dragon) and 1 at a wreck on the Dragon.
