Z exhaust in Knoxville

Sunset350zr and ZLAYER on here both have exhaust. Sunset has a Nismo exhaust, not sure of ZLAYER - both sound great, mine is still stock. We all have been on rides together and I've heard them both and it would be a tough decision. Both live in Knoxville. I am sure they will be on here at some time this week, but you can PM them and they may respond quicker. Good luck, would love to see what exhaust you decide on. There are also two G35 guys that we go on rides with that may have new exhaust now, I know they recently completed some mods. Good luck.

well i heard from some people that if you get a loud exhaust to start with then if you want to get headers and a y-pipe it gets too loud, so i think i might be going with the tanabe medallion and then get the tanabe y-pipe just to get the maximum power out of the exhaust but that's all based on internet videos and nothing first hand, i would like to go to a big meet or something, i wish i had gone to zdayz and then i would have seen everything but oh well what do you think of the tanabe ? heres the video of one with the tanabe and the y-pipe

70proof, I'm in Knoxville and in the same boat. I have been in the planning stages of getting an exhaust since I bought my car but just can't seem to decide on which one. I know what you mean about wanting to hear it in person but there's not alot of modded Z's around here. I will most likely go with the Injen TI or the Invidia N1. I want something aggressive and deep but not so loud that you cant hear the radio. Let us know if you make the leap, I'd like to hear it in person.

Like Rheltney said I have the nismo exhaust on my roadster which is very calm unless at full boar. In the beginning I noticed the sound a lot but after a bit you don't notice it as much. I love the way the car sounds though and for the roadster believe it was the best choice for me. I can come home and put the car in the garage without waking the wife if she is sleep. I will say I do seem to keep my roadster under boil more than the coupe, and that may purely be due to enjoyment of exhaust note. Let me know if you would like to hear it. I will warn you though. Nismo exhaust should only be bought under some group buy as it is expensive.

I have the topspeed Pro-1. I'd say its one of the loudest. I dont have test pipes or a y, and dont really plan on getting them. But if did I would get resonated test pipes to cut down on the raspyness.

Three of the guys on this post will be on a Dragon ride tomorrow - Sunday, 2/24/08 - jperleon won't have his Z (getting a kit I believe), but he will be there. Also, Sunset350zr and ZLayer will be there along with some other Z's and other types of cars. We're meeting at 11am at the Airport Hilton, next to the Knoxville Airport. Hope you can join us.

You can go to some of the manufactures websites, and hear sound clips, if you want to check out a few.
