Warning to Z enthusiasts near Orlando...A shop you don't want to do business with!!!

I have been browsing the boards here for a while looking for a reputable shop near Orlando to build my motor. Japtrix in Lake Worth worked on my car in the past, and they treated me great, but the thought of investing another $14-15k, I wanted to try and find someone local in the event I had any issues. (Japtrix is 3 plus hours away) I called Jeremy at Performance Factory in Orlando, after seeing someone on the post boards recommend them. He was very helpful and pleasant on the phone, and emailed me an estimate. I called him back and suggested I come by the shop to see their work first hand. I was not sure there the shop was located, so I called him when I was on the way, and he gave me directions. When I got to the industrial park where they are located, there are several buildings, with the businesses running 5 or 6 deep, and with the angle the sun was putting on the buildings, I could not read the signs past the first business of each building. I called Jeremy to find his exact location, and he became very rude and said he did not want my business, and hung up on me! I drove thru heavy traffic for almost an hour, to spend almost $ 15,000, and was hung up on! Better to find out now, than after the fact, that a shop doesn't have time to take care of their customers.

ok, what are you leaving out? i dont understand why he would get rude with you for just asking for directions. there has to be more to this story.

jkaale Mar 23, 2007 01:31 PM

Sorry...There isn't...

I did not post this to start anything. I have never even met anyone from that shop. I said nothing rude, or upsetting in any way. I just wanted help finding the shop. If he says otherwise, he isn't telling the truth. I have no reason to lie what so ever. I just wanted to warn my fellow Z owners that I would not trust them to work on my car if they are too impatient to give you directions when you are practically on the parking lot, how patient do you think they are going to be if there is an issue, while they are working on your car?

There are two sides to every story...............:icon8:

ZU L8R Mar 23, 2007 02:54 PM

Why don't you tell the whole story. I know what happened so go ahead and tell the whole story.

popcorn

Jeremy is a stand up guy and has been very patient with me and my car. I will say the shop is alittle hard to find, but worth looking for.

Waiting to hear from Jeremy

funny thing is ANYone that knows me knows that i am 95% laid back and easy going and someone would have to push me A LOT to get me to get mad at someone i dont know.

here is what happened to the T. i dont need to inflate my story at all.

i spoke with Jim the other day just like i do tons of people every week. i then sent him an estimate for a certain dollar amount for a rebuild. he said he wanted to come out and check out the shop today. of course i said come on out. my address is right on my website. he called me LOST and asked me directions which i gave him. He then told me i need to change my website to South Orange Blossom Trail because i was WRONG and used some language that i didnt think was necessary for the phone conversation. so i just looked past it and told him how to get here.

Then, his EXACT WORDS was, "You did tell me there were 10 F@$#king buildings in here, which F@#$king building are you in?" in a very pissed off way. i said, listen, i run a professional shop around here and dont have time for customers with your type of attitude and told him to take his business elsewhere.

YOU will not single handedly bring me down cause you cant find your way to a place where HUNDREDS have been. its not hard and everyone that knows me knows i run a tight ship that doesnt need pushy, cocky, arrogant people coming out of here. i would rather NOT have your business than deal with your unnecessary attitude..

thanks

ooh this is gonna get good. Sorry but Jeremy is very well known over here and most everyone trusts him. He is always very helpful, courteous, and will give you some of the best prices around. You must have done something to get that kind of response if it is even true.

Zridder19 Mar 23, 2007 03:11 PM

Jeremy is very patient with people, and has always made time to answer all of my many questions. I knew there was more to it. Dont try to bring him down.

To the OP... why did you find it necessary to swear like that? Life getting you down? Try Scientology, it worked for me.

98MODMTR Mar 23, 2007 03:24 PM

Holy christ, there are just some people that can't be satisfied.

Julian@MRC Mar 23, 2007 03:31 PM

If you cursed at me on the phone, I would have done the same thing...customers like you are only potential problems either way.

^^^Very true. Jeremy is one of the most laid back people I have ever met.

Oh, come on...this is just ridiculous. Once you're in the complex it's not that hard to find a shop surrounded by Zs and Gs. I found it pretty easily, and I always get lost in Orlando, just ask ZU L8R. LOL

where did the OP go? lol

Wow! Jkaale, it must be an interesting experience getting a mortgage through you! "Mortgage Lender, in Orlando, Fl. Driving an '03 Twin Turbo. http://www.myspace.com/141233396 "

Jeremy is a guy who will bend over backwards to help out his customers. I, for one, spent about ten hours at his shop a couple of weeks ago having Jeremy tune my car on his dyno. Instead of just doing what needed to be done, he played wih the tune...especially the low boost settings for half of the time, just to get the drivablilty perfected.

He was very cool, let me climb under the car just to mess with stuff......many shop owners won't let you do anyting in their shop, but Jeremy knows I am a huge DIYer and did everything on my car....So we kicked a few ideas around about trying different things, and everything was cool.......

and as far as finding his shop, it was cake! Don't you live in Orlando? If so, you'd know that area is South OBT...DUHHHHHHH!!!!! I don't even live in Orlando, and I know that! :icon11:
