Just incase any of you bro's need an ECU

I got one out of a 03 6mt lying around. Should be good if you ever want to play around with reflashing etc or you need one for some astronomical reason. $100 bucks obo

Im guessing you guys want it to fix your Utec problems? Mine has some hesitation under full throttle, the response of boost hits you like a wall of power, not smooth sometimes.

I had that problem also, but I also found out a fuel leak. After fixing the fuel leak the tune went to ****, but I also discovered a third fuel leak. I am just running off a base map right now( I dont even go past 3500rpms/easy throttle) till I make sure I am clear of fuel leaks and strapping it down for a tune. Everything went down hill when I started running slower at the street tuner event and went thro a 1/4 tank of gas after 4runs. The intake manifold has to come off to fix the valve cover oil leak on the passenger side. It scared me when I saw the top of the plug covered in oil and thought to myself oh man motor let go a little early, but realized it was leaking from the valve cover o-ring around the plug hole and checked compression 150psi all the way across on a cold motor. Got my aem wideband in and aem tru boost controller/gauge too. After hunting all the fuel problems, I could have had a fuel cell in and ran my A1000 fuel pump by now ;)

Our issues are verbaitum the issues that plauge Z's with UTEC's. From what Nick @ MAC showed me from a log on a road test, There are issues from when it switches from low throttle (stock ECU) to higher throttle (UTEC) Our thoughts are PERHAPS it is a reflashed ECU that somehow maybe the issue, although that wouldn't explain Andrew's problems.

TXS:
"2. More recently we have had several UTECs cause a steep drop off in power in the 4800-6200rpm rev range. These UTECs run the car fine under idle, cruise, and low load driving conditions. The problem does not manifest itself until you are under load or aggressively accelerating the vehicle. This problem should not be confused with massive knock events and/or poor tuning which could cause the same "symptom"of power drop off. There is no way to "tune this problem out".

^well i sure don't have that.

It just kinda feels like the car is notchy every now and then, like you can feel the fuel kick in a little late when mashing on the throttle.

hr2burn Jul 3, 2007 07:16 AM

Yeah that is what mine does too....perhaps it has nothing to do with reflash. Sorry Juztin for hijacking!

Juztin Jul 3, 2007 07:26 AM

haha damn hijackers that adds 17% to the price! I'll definitely check the back of the ECU today to see what code it is

I thought I'd chime in as well, I didn't notice any issues with throttle response on my tune, only time it did act up on me was when my fuel system sprung a thousand leaks :P
