Bandimere tommorow, who's going??

We will be their tommorow to run the new set-up on the Z. Taller slick plus more nitrous. Also going to bring out the sentra. Hopefully worked out the glitches and should see some respectable times out of that car if all goes well. Would be great to see you guys. Jason

by crack a 14 do you mean crack into the 14's (aka time<15.0) or do you mean you hope to get a 14 even?

I haven't been to a whole lot of events at bandimere but i just know last time i was there two modded evos were somewhere in the 14's... so unless they were pretty terrible drivers i don't think you'll be seing in the 14's

blackz7887 Jul 31, 2007 09:26 PM

i mean 14.99999999 lol. i have no clue what these run up here. i thought i saw some other peeps from colorado basically stock runnin 15.2-14.8.... maybe i should hope for 16's then i'll be happy with a 15 somethin lol. i don't think im too far off though since my buddy ran a 15.1 on a bone stock cobalt ss and i know im faster than him. this will be the first time racing this car though so im probably gonna suck it up lol.

myspivey Aug 1, 2007 06:41 AM

Ya, they must have been bad drivers... A stock Z will get you into the 14's.

Juztin Aug 1, 2007 10:05 AM

The fastest I've seen out of a n/a Z was a 14.8, they're really 15 second cars at Bandi n/a. If you can crack a 14.x n/a I'll be impressed.

Robert_K Aug 1, 2007 11:26 AM

I ran a 15.0 w/ PopCharger, 5/16th spacer, APS TP, & Crank pulley. Sean I think has the best N/A run as mentioned, 14.8 w/ just an intake. Most stock early models I saw were running 15.3-15.5. I'm sure w/ the new motors they could run lower 15's and high 14's.

blackz7887 Aug 1, 2007 06:32 PM

sweet, i'll have to find out next week. as soon as i pulled into the lanes it started pouring and the race got called :icon20: i figure as long as i pull a low 15 i'll be pretty happy.

Abishop Aug 3, 2007 08:10 AM

i ran a 14.9 n/a at bandi. sean ran a 14.8 also. its possible, just learn how to launch your car.

Man I wanna go tonight! I can't with this damn UTEC CRAP!!!
Sean

bldrz Aug 8, 2007 08:11 AM

Mudd, I am heading down tonight. Either bringing the sentra or I may run the SL. Are you going tonight? Sean, What's the utec doing?? I know when I talked to Kevin a while back you had it retuned, but haven't heard since how your car is running. Jason

hr2burn Aug 8, 2007 08:26 AM

Man Jason, I think everyone that has a reflash with the utec has similar problems. Just getting into the "meat of the power" it jerks and bucks or sometimes it's just flat. I found kinda pulsing the gas will fix the issue and she's a bat out of hell. I seems when it switches from stock ECU to utec @ say 2lbs of boost, if you are going in with full throttle, there's problems.
Anyway I'm kinda dead in the water, and different tuners are not bringing different results.
Sean

Sean, How much boost can you run safely on the current reflash?? Another option might be to send the ecu back to technosquare for a reflash at the boost level you desire. I know you lose the ability to run different maps, but if you can run on the reflash alone with no driveability issues and a clean powerband it may be a better option. I know alot of people swear by a piggyback but for everyday driveabilty a reflash is hard to beat. Sorry about the issues I know it can be very frustrating. Give Eric or me a call and we can put our heads together and try to get this resolved so you can enjoy your Z. Jason

hr2burn Aug 8, 2007 10:27 AM

Thanks Jason. I have thought about going a direction other than a piggyback configuration. I have things like exhaust, plenum etc...and it would be a pain for reflashes. I also like the safety features with the UTEC. Kevin has similar problems so sooner or later we're gonna get to the bottom of this. It seems people with NO REFLASH running a utec don't have the problem (IE BISHOP AND MUDD) I thought of throwing a un-flashed ECU in and see if that fixes it. would that be safe?
Thanks, Sean

hr2burn Aug 8, 2007 10:39 AM

P.S. could the Turbonetics Cat disenegrating have anything to do with this? I doubt it but it's a shot in the dark....

Abishop Aug 8, 2007 12:05 PM

I have had some of the problems you describe sean. What do you mean by bucking and/or jerking?

hr2burn Aug 8, 2007 06:40 PM

Well there are 2 different problems. Sometimes my car feels like a bat outta hell and I look at the last peak boost and it's like 6lbs!!! Other times I really feel a slow spool up and just lack luster performance and I check the peak and it's like 10.4
The bucking/jerking is just that, boost is replaced or mixed with what feels like someone is pulling the plug so to speak on my ignition...turning off and on really fast.
Anyway sorry about the hi-jacking of the thread...I LOVE to talk about me and me related things!!
Sean
