Default Anyone in Phx. wanna meet this week?

I am in Phx. all the time for my job, but this is the first time I have driven down with my Z. Thought I'd see if anyone wanted to maybe meet and/or go for a drive.

I live in Denver and have a LeMans Track model.

If anyone is up for it, post up your suggestions and perhaps we can set something up.

Saturday may work great for me. I do have plans Sunday @ Firebird. Part of the reason I drove down was to do some drag racing there. I also should be at Firebird Friday night as well, getting some practice for Sunday.

This will be the first time I have driven the Z at anything lower then the 5,500 ft. elevation in which I live. I am kinda looking foward to it.

Hmm, what's happening Sunday @ Firebird? But if you're going to be at Firebird this Friday, I can possibly meet up with ya. I have DB Track 350.

Brian,
You are going to love the Z at lower elevation. I took my (Denver native) Z to Havasu, AZ for Spring Break and it was a totally different car. It pulls so much harder, I hated to bring it home to the thin air.

cbsuper..........There is an IDRC drag race there on Sunday. I figured since I do alot of competitive drag racing in Denver, I'd go ahead and enter the race here.

If you are coming to Firebird Friday, let me know so we can meet up. Maybe some others would be interested as well.

Gary..................I am already quite impressed with the power gains I have aquired by just driving 900 miles to the Southwest. I love alot of things about Colorado, but lack of oxygen is not one of them.

Go to the Pavillions on the 101 and Indian bend by the home depot around 4-5 pm on Saturday and you will see lots of classic cars as well as 350Z--- people are there every week. FYI -- Would go but I have to reseed my lawn-- oh what fun

I'm going to be up at Firebird with my drag race crew, a startup at ASU called the Drag Race Devils. I'll keep an eye out for ya. Just look for the DB 350Z. I'll probably be up there about 7pm.

I will look for you.............I am sure I will be the only LeMans Z there with Colorado plates. I will be there with my friend who is driving down his rig loaded with his Blue Civic SI drag car. They also are equiped with Colorado plates.
So look out for us.

Brian-

If you're going down to Firebird, check out the road course as well. I ran there in 2000 and we used the drag strip for the front straight and ran the counter-clockwise course. Quite challenging and when it rains, that concrete launch pad gets @#$% slick as you come around the tower!

Hey Jim...........You interested in bringing down your Z for a little fun at Firebird on Friday?
I thought you might wanna do that since it seems not to many people are interested in any sort of drive.
Let me know.

Default Firebird

Brian, I am seriously thinking about trying to make it, especially if the weather turns cooler as it looks like it may. I've found that running in 95 - 110 temps is a waste of time and gas and especially et's! I run at Speedworld (other side of the valley) and want to get some times at Firebird. Uh oh. I have a LS too! Oh, well, mines an auto tho
Watch this space and I will let you know if I can get all my ducks in a row by Friday nite. Regards, Jim

Hey, Mudd, I apologize, but I won't be able to make it out to Firebird tonight. Something's come up and I won't be on the east side. Sorry man, maybe sometime when I go to Denver to visit my sister I can look you up.

Hey Brian, Great to meet you last night! Not so great that I embarrassed the Z fraternity by running so poorly tho. If I had to get spanked, I'm glad it was by another LS Z (yours!) When I ran you, I went to manual and was watching you pull away in third and totally spaced out my shift and hit the rev limiter really hard! At least I found out that Firebird is not .2 faster than the track I run (Speedworld)!
Sorry I had to leave as early as I did, but I still haven't fully recovered from the West Nile virus that Colorado gave me in August and this was my first time back out since I got out of the hospital and I was totally out of steam.
Hope you guys have a safe and good trip back to Colorado. Regards, Jim

Jim............track was in much better shape today. However, it was hot as hell so times were not that much better. I was able to run a best of 14.29. I was a bit suprised due to the fact that it was 93 degrees and the middle of the afternoon.
Best part of the story was that I did win the race in my class. They were paying $500 to win, so that certainly helped out.

Jim it was good meeting you, to bad others wern't able to make it there or really to anywhere else we could have met. It seems to me that there doesn't seem to be many 350Z enthusiasts in Phoenix. I see so many Z's, but very little participation in any events. Not sure why that is, but hopefully that will change.

You have a beautiful car, that new grill is awesome, hopefully we can meet up sometime again. I may not have my Z though with me, but I am here about every other week..
Oh and by the way........you weren't an embarresment at all.
