May 19th Bandimere Night

Well, on Wednesday, May 19th, the BSpeed guys are planning on going to Bandimere for the Test and Tune night. A couple of the Turbo guys are going to see who is the boss, and the rest of us are going to get some straight line driving out of our system.

The gates open at 4:30pm, and will close for admittance at around 8:30pm or so. I believe racing will continue after that though.

It's a perfect venue for the 350Z's. Some guys talk some smack though, like Z's only turning 15's? WTF? :D

Seriously though, since a lot of us get off of work around 5:30pm or so (ish), we're all just going to head up there after work. We don't have a meeting place set up, we're all just heading up there on our own.

Look for the big group of Nissan and Infiniti's. That's us (mostly).

I wanna see some Z's there. Nissan needs some respect!

LegendaryZ 05-12-2004 11:56 AM

Count me in. I get off work at like 1:00 so I can definately be there by 4:30. My Z will have no problem pulling 12s, but am looking to pull an 11, although I probably won't be able to without slicks. See ya'll there....

Do you need a helmet?

Cyclemut 05-13-2004 04:59 PM

I'm not positive, but I don't think so. I've gone to several test and tune nights in Phoenix, and none were needed there.

I'm not taking mine, if that's any consolation.

Mudd 05-14-2004 06:12 AM

If you have any questions about this please post them here as I race at Bandimere about every week.

1.)You will need a helmet for anything faster then 13.99sec. Stock Z's will not approach this time at all, in fact more then likely will not even break into the 14's. If it happens it will suprise the hell out of me.

2.) Chris...............i don't wanna burst your bubble, however you may wanna chat with me regarding taking your Z up there first. You might be suprised at what may be required of your car if you are really going to be running 11's or 12's. I also would like to remind you that you will run significantly slower here then at sea level. Not to many street driven cars can run the times you are thinking you will run. I'm not directing this as a jab or anything, but just as a reminder that you more then likely won't be seeing those times from a FI 350Z. More like 13's is more realistic. Again, not trying to talk ****. There is alot of safety equipment required of a car running those times that I don't know if you have. Anytime you have a car that runs faster then 13.99 and especially 12.99 or quicker there are many requirements. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

3.) Gates open at 4............time runs start at 4:30 and end at 9:00. My advice......get there as early as possible to maximize the amount of runs you can make. It gets very crowded after 6:00pm. I usually try to leave there by about 7:00 to avoid the long waits that sometimes happen.

If anyone has any other questions I will answer them if you'd like me to.

Brian

Thanks a lot Brian, I appreciate the information. Good stuff to know.

Hmm....I wonder if I'd be looking at 19's for the ol' 1.8 GXE? :D

I ran a 17 at sea level...woo hoo!

LegendaryZ 05-16-2004 05:03 PM

Sorry guys but I won't be able to make it. Got in a nasty car accident on Friday and my Z got totalled. Don't know what's going to happen so I'll keep you all updated.

Cyclemut 05-16-2004 06:11 PM

Damn, are you OK? That's all that matters. Cars can be replaced, you can't.

Mudd 05-17-2004 05:59 AM

Cyclemut............I e-mailed the group over the weekend about this event for you. I let you know if I get any response.

I myself may or may not make it. I am trying to get ready for this big house warming party I am having this coming up weekend and depending on what I get accomplished will determine if I make it or not.

Yeah I'm okay, nothing too serious. Mostly just a bunch of cuts and bruises. May have snapped the tendon/ligament in my thumb, but won't know for a few more days. My right arm is in a half cast, so if my thumb doesn't feel better in a few days I have to go see a hand specialist. Just hope everything works out and I don't come out on the losing end. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Work is clearing up, I'll see you out there.

Mudd 05-19-2004 05:57 AM

Sorry everyone..........I will not be making it out tonight to the track.
I have way too many things to get together for this party I'm having this weekend and I am already racing Friday night @ Bandimere. Hope everyone has a great time.

GaryM05 05-21-2004 05:21 AM

So how was the Bandimere event? Was it fun, and did you have a good turnout?

mattsfeir 05-21-2004 05:48 AM

Cyclemut and I made it out and ran, plus some B Speed members were there to spectate. Bandimere was fun, a little on the pricey side at $30 to run and $10 to spectate. Lots of fast street cars, I'd like to go again, but I'd probably just spectate and wander around the staging area.

2 Z's were there, I don't think they were from this board though. I saw two of their runs in the 16's, I don't think they got into the 15's, but could be wrong. I don't recall their trap speeds, maybe Cyclemut does.

With a large bog at launch (2.9-3.1 60' times), I was running 15.1-15.4 at 100-101 in my turbo SE-R.

Bottom 05-21-2004 07:18 AM

The Z's were getting 16's? In my old Acura CL-s I was getting 15.8 second times and when I first got my Z I was getting 15.5 seconds. I thought that was really bad. I can't remember what my 60 feet time was, but my Mustang friend said it was pretty poor.

Brian what do you usually run?

David

Cyclemut 05-21-2004 09:05 PM

Well, I did have fun, that's for sure. I hesitate to state my times, as this is a board for the faster Nissan cars.

Yeah, the Z's were running 16's, but in one guys defense, it wasn't his car, and he wasn't used to it. The owner didn't want to drive it (skeert) so he had a friend do the damage.

I ran (remember, a 1.8, Autotrajic Sentra!) a 19.4....quit laughing now.

No seriously, quit laughing.

Really....:D

Mudd 05-23-2004 09:05 AM

Fastest I've ever ran here is 15.11. The air was almost perfect on that run and I had a great launch. I really don't think you will see a sub 15 sec. run here on a stock 350Z. It's very hard just to get a 15,1 sec time.
I've run a 14.32 in Phoenix in the 100 degree heat at a race I was there for in September of last year.

I think the reason these guys you saw run the 16's was that they probably didn't know really how to drive the car. There are alot of things I have learned with this car that will help you run quicker, but if you are not familiar with driving the car at a track they won't help you that much. I usually can run consistant 15.3's all night long providing it's not extemely warm out. And consistency is the name of the game for the racing I do at Bandimere.

Bottom 05-27-2004 06:31 AM

So I was able to go Bandimere last night. I have a couple friends that have Mustangs so I met them there. I got four runs in and my times were all over the place. The only thing that was consistant was my reaction time sucking. My quarter mile times ranged from 15.26 to 15.70 seconds.

The White Boulder Nissan 350Z was there, but I never got to see him run down the track or even see what was going on under the hood.

It was fun.

Whats going on under the hood of the white Boulder Nissan 350z is a fully built bolck with a greddy TT system running at least 14 psi. Last dyno i heard from them was 597 rwhp!!! whis i could have seen what that car can do!

The only thing that car does is not make it down the track.

I think that 597HP number you are hearing is a big rumor. They have nothing to prove or back up that statement that I have seen.
