T1R's in the rain...I'm impressed

Today was the first time I had the "pleasure" of driving my T1R's in the rain, even on boost they held up amazingly well. I am impressed

That's good to hear, I have the same tires, but I try not to drive her in the rain, but like I said that is good to hear

+1 I had to try hard to break them loose today. Cornering was impressive with them also.

Volk350Z Oct 17, 2005 10:27 PM

same here.. mine work well in the rain...

Does it go like this s-03 < T1R < PS-2 ??

Trying to pick out a set of new tires...my s-03s hold like crap under boost.

That's good to hear. I didn't have very good experiences with the T1-S's in the rain, despite all the good reviews about them. On dry surfaces, they're awesome!

I had the T1S's on my Celi and you're right they were not too hot in the rain.
The T1R's are completely different they really hook up well

I'm still running on stock tires. :( But they perform fine in the rain as long as I avoid hard braking and fast corners.

I can't wait to get my T1-R's. So they are great in the rain, but how about dry performance. I'm hearing mixed reviews.

I love them, but then again I'm only hitting it hard at the track and I'm running on et streets in the back on those occasions.

seanlaw Oct 18, 2005 04:28 PM

yea i have the same to say as well.

i'm convinced that the 'R' in T1-R stands for rain. i have 1000x more confidence now in the rain...and you do have to try hard to break the rear loose....now a TT setup might be alittle different but they are incredible compared to stocks

I have found the Goodyear F1 D3 to do quite well so far ... they replaced my old T1S that we okay in the rain

ihatethatbobbarker Oct 18, 2005 08:38 PM

in my experience, s03s are AWESOME tires, until they get some wear on them, then they suck.

havent tried t1rs yet just ordered some for my mum, but they dont dissipate heat well when drifting, i know that much.

yokohoma's next on my list to try.
