Bryant scores 81 points in Lakers win
Kobe Bryant scored a staggering 81 points - the second-highest total in NBA history - and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors 122-104 Sunday night. With the fans at Staples Center chanting "MVP! MVP!" Bryant made two free throws with 43.4 seconds remaining for his final points, putting him behind only Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list. :icon11: :icon11: :icon11: Amazing!!! |

MVP! MVP! beat that SHAQ

anyone have the ration of how many shots he took to the amount of shots taken by the rest of the team?
I wonder which team in the Fantasy Basketball League has Kobe...
Doesn't say much about the rest of the team. A team can't survive with only one scorer.
back in the late 80's they said the same thing about Jordan. They will build around Kobe and I dont know if they will be as great as the bulls back then, but Kobe definately has the potential to be as great as Jordan.
I agree, but I think I will start being a Kobe fan as soon as he mature a bit.
He was on fire! Man if he played back in the day he would have scored more than 100 points. The competition these days compared to the 60's is not even close considering the athleticism of these guys now a days. Truly a major milestone.
+1 on the maturity. Without maturing, Kobe can never be a leader and do what he needs to do on and off the court.
bastard ! BASTARD!!!!
why he do it to us!!! lol j/k |

Kobe Bryant will NEVER be Michael Jordan. I don't care how many points he scores, he'll never do it with the grace, style and respect Michael Jordan has. Michael Jordan has had the potential and oppurtunity to surpass his personal 69 pt record, but he put his personal goals second to the team's dynamics. However, on that note, in doesn't help that Kobe is playing with a bunch of amateurs as supposed to Jordan's old teamates ( Pipen, Kerr, Rodman etc)

I remember Jordan had to Retire like 3 times. I dont see how that did anything for his team. One of those times was to play baseball? At least Kobe knows what hes good at; white women and big games!

+1 back then he could score 120, but this was a great performance by a great player. I don't care about MJ Kobe is Kobe and know one will get close to scoring 81 points again. The best part was they were down by 18 points, I still have a smile on my face.:D |
