Got my letter today. "Yer credit card you used to buy crap on their site has been compromised and is currently being used by Russians to purchase new 350zs and various Las Vegas vacation packages."

Okay it didn't say all that but ya get the idea. :icon20:

Anyway, closed my account, and there hadn't been any charges. Lucky this time.

P.S. Yes I know not *all* Russians are in the credit card fraud biznas :horse:

That is just for precautionary reasons. I highly doubt your credit data is compromised. Just monitor it like you do anyway and you'll find out if it does get compromised. Then call the CC company and they will take care of it.

Performance Nissan is doing everything they can within their power to get it back up (improved and more powerful security - wink wink). :D

but then.. I just remembered I buy everything straight from Jeff at the parts counter. Never go thru the website. :)

I'm actually surprised that in this day and age they did not encrypt the cc data. I got 3 letters....I now have to cancel 3 cards...sucks.

I hope they fire their developer and hire someone that knows what he's doing
It makes us decent software developers look bad when someone develops an unsecured system for a vendor.

well, I hope both the customers and perf nissan recover from this fast

Got the letter too. At least they listed which card it was so I didn't have to cancell all of them.

i got the letter too... am contemplating whether I should close the acct because i just got a replacement card with the same accnt number, but the expiration is different and the secret code... that what was on file with them...
any thoughts?

I think you should change the account number just incase. I received two letters from them as well, luckily one account was already canceled. For the other I had both the account and code changed.

Got 2 letters last Friday. I account was already closed. As for the 2nd account, the cc company is going to send new cards.

Important Advice
 
Get a NEW account number! Really - better safe than sorry.
Canceled mine on Saturday & the new card arrived DHL by noon on Monday. That's what I call service!

I just cancelled my debit card and they're issuing me a new one in 5-7 days. This really sucks as I use this card all the time.

got mine too the other day. probaly will cancel tomorrow but then again i like to live life on the edge :icon39:
