im trying to think of where that is at. only because im a hop skip and a jump away. FYI: hondas are a hot item right now in SD. there are about 2-3 race crews that go around stealing cars. they use a tow truck and ****** the cars at night. a few people i know have had their cars taken like this.

I bet they had a bunch of prototype mods in it that they havent put into production yet. This really sux. This could cost them a lot of trouble.

Though there is so many preventive thief products out there, nothing is really safe, especially when thieves are towing cars now.

Hang them all by their genitals!

Wow that is incredible! I hate thieves! Is it just me or is that a huge gap between the estimates of the vehicles worth. $50,000 to $150,000. Thats a $100,000 dollar gap! So i'm wondering is it worth 50K or 150K?

I say so, assuming most of the parts were prototypes. That car WAS their actually test car from what was mentioned in some magazines. I bet most, maybe even all the new products for the '06 Civic were finalized out of that car.

Ok... I dont understand.

Why would people automatically assume it will be disassembeled in Mexico?

I mean, seriously. It's not like the car market is that great down there. Yeah, as of last year they started offering more different car manufacturers, but that does not mean the economy is strong enough for it to have a high demand on "tuner" accessories as it is here. Yeah, I've seen the market first hand, I've even been to a couple of "import shows" and their version of "Sema". The market is no where near as demanding as it is here.

So again, why does every car that gets stolen automatically have to end up stripped in Mexico? Is this a stereotype??

My last car, an Eclipse was stolen from Ontario's Metro station... less than 12 hours after I left it at the parking lot it was found in Fontana.... stripped to the bone! No doors, no engine, no suspension, no interior! It was no were near Mexico or its border.

A couple of months later, when some crooks got busted, I get a call from the local PD. Apperantly some of the serial #'s I reported appeared in the shop/garage they rated..... the people arrested for the cars they were charged for stealing and stripping: 4 Asian decent and one Anglo (good ol'fashioned white boy). Now, does that mean every Import/Tuner car is being stripped by Asians and white boys??
