Contact local dog breeders of boxers, great danes, and other dogs that have their ears crop. Actually that is pretty cheap. I've had great danes since the 80's. I had one of my great dane's ears cropped and ended up costing $800. That included the procedure, anesthetic, re-tapping, medication. I suggest you pay the vet for re-tapping if you haven't done it before. It's PITA to do and the dog yelps alot. The dog should be between 8-10 weeks old. If you do it when they are to old they ears wont stand up. Good luck with the ear cropping.

Go to a reputable vet hospital. We have bred many litters of puppies and took them to a local vet to get their tails docked, dewclaws removed, and their shots. It shouldn't cost much, but how old is your dog?

let the ears be long and proud!

that is so messed up. I know it is normal, but talking about it just sounds so cruel to the dog. can they feel when ther cut thier ear apart?

leave the ears alone. How would you like it if someone cropped your ears?:icon22: Seriously, I have 2 dobies and I left there ears alone. The vet says that cropping the ears is purely cosmetic. In England and Britain it is against the law to crop a dog's ears. I day let it be, and sometimes the crop may not take.........:icon11:

Whats the point? It's really not nessesary unless you use your dog for hunting. In Britain people originally docked tails because hunting dogs would get cuts on there tails when going through the undergrowth. Seems like now it is for cosmetic reasons which is pretty cruel imo.

Yeah I have to agree I wouldn't do it either, but don't go somewhere like petsmart if you are going to do it which is why I said a good vet people you know recommend. Maybe on puppies because they don't remember, like with tail docking, but I wouldn't want to do it on an adult dog :(.
