how do i get to LA crest?
I heard that it has excellent twisties and it's long. So it makes for good driving.
How do i get there? i heard it starts somewhere close to the 15 and the 215? Is it true it ends at the beach too? I wanna drive it tonight, is it heavily patrolled by cops? |
You need to meet up at the huge industrial complex first.

??
is that a joke referance to fast and the furious? |
ok i was completely off. its somewhere around the 210*?
|
yeah where 2 and 210 meet. becareful, i know many many people that crashed up there. and heard of many people getting pulled over there too. honestly, i dont think its worth it to drive all the way here from anaheim to drive on the crest.. if u live 5 minutes away like me, then cruising once in a while isnt bad. go to tracks!

210, get off "Angeles Crest Highway"

From Anaheim:
57 North -> 210 West Take the 210 connector on the right where it splits to the 134. Exit Angeles Crest Highway and turn right off the 210. For the most part, the crest is a straight drive (one road). However, a few miles up the hill you can turn right and get into some more technical twisties on the way up to Mt. Wilson. Definitely be aware that the Crest is not open all the way through to Wrightwood - It it closed right after you go through the two tunnels. |
cool, thanks for the help guys.

careful going up the side roads, like the road to mt wilson... it's not under county jursdiction to clean up, or something like that, so there's always a LOT of rocks.
truly, be careful of cops, and don't push yourself and your car beyond your comfortable limits. the crest can be really, really fun to drive, but every few months another one bites the dust, in a bad way. also, once in a while cops decide to do a huge stakeout thingy to ticket everyone for EVERYTHING, including crossing the yellow line [even accidentally, at tight turns]....... just be very aware of your surroundings. if it's your first time up there i wouldnt recommend going at night as it can get VERY, VERY foggy. and scary. :D watch out for the chain-gang ghosts. and the crazy cult-ish motherfuxers who live up there in the woods :) |

I wasn't planning on pushing my car, Just wanted to cruise it and feel the turns a little, nothing to drastic. thanks again for all the tips guys. |
Tell me about ghost.
|
go hang out at the parking lot area at the foot of the road to mt wilson at night and wait around. you'll hear/see things.
|
be careful kiddo, i know how crazy u drive :icon38:
|
I just ran through it for the first time today. Got to the restaurant, ate, and cruised back down. On the way up I hit a little dirt patch and my back kicked out a little bit. Becareful of debris and dirt patches. I see how some people can eat it hard at some turns.

The weekend is pretty crazy up at the crest too. Lately it seems like I see more and more street bikers on the ground. If you hit it up most of the cops are more towards the glendale section. Once you pass the T when you can go towards wrightwood or Palmdale...it seems like there are less cops. I actually like the stretch that goes towards wrightwood better. If you do go towards Palmdale you might make a turn on little tujunga and there is a turn off. You can actually hike down to the waterfall there and do some cliff jumping.

cool, i'll have to check that out next time if i go when its warm.
|
watch out for sportbikes.
