it's ALLIIIIIIIIIVVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kudos to me, cause I just got my car back from performance! It feels a little stronger with the new block (no vacuum leaks). I could barely tell though, cause as soon as i reach 3200rpms, i shift, and it'll be that way..for the next 4000 miles. sigh. But I'm still happy she's back in my life. Would've been interesting if I would've sold it and bought the Mazdaspeed 3, but I'm glad I kept it actually. Put too much into it to see it go that way. So I guess I can still go to meets, but as long as there's no touge involved, cause my car can't say no to it. I would have to say that my car has similiar characteristics right now, to that of a recovering heroin addict. Well, hope to see all of you soon. I'll probably go to this saturday's meet in the 805.

4000? not 1000?
is it a brand new motor? |
Congrats :D
Glad to hear you're back in business. Break-in is 1200 miles under 4k rpm, BTW.
oh right. 4k rpm
i thought he mean 4k miles. |
actually, the longer you break in a motor, the better, for example, BMW dealers require that you break in the M3 motor for I believe 3500 miles.
^really? ive heard if u dont work your car hard since new, for a while, it gets slower? for example, if u buy a used car from an asian lady that never floored it or took it past 4-5Krpm, i heard its slower than others thats been properly broken in. i think u should just go by the manual. might be different for all engines.
Hmmm, I don't have the manual unfortunately. I'll call jeff and ask.
Glad to hear it's up and running smoothly.
burn, i just noticed that performance cleaned up the timing on the ecu, which means that the whole acceleration starting at 3200 rpms is gone i believe, casue my car starts creating major power at 4k rpms like it used to. It still redlines at 7100 rpms, but low end power sucks.
I find that a car that is driven hard early on is normally faster than its counterparts.
Oh and the M3 or BMW break-in is 1200 miles. |
