Get some decent tires and brake pads, make sure your car is in good working order. Get into the beginner group and take the HPDE course (High performance driver's education) TRUST ME... The best time you'll ever have at the track is with a knowledgeable instructor by your side. I recommend NASA events, the instructors much more cooler and informative.
