Don't drive in the carpool lane. Doubt you'll get any sympathy from anyone here.

You're mad at the police because they issued you a ticket for a violation that you clearly made? Anyways... the fine will be HUGE. I heard it would be close to a grand after they implemented new rules for 2009.

carpool violations are posted throughout the freeway. check it out as you pass through, and keep in mind that's only the minimum. don't forget to make plenty of room for court charges.

Yes, and the fact that you don't proves how deserving you are of this ticket.

True that not many people really do follow the 65mph limit on the freeway or the 25mph school zone speed, but as long as we fall within a reasonable range, I don't see why the popo would bother us. I just dont see how it is unreasonable for the cop to issue you the ticket. And with that said, I see absolutely no reason on why you are bashing the police. It's offensive to me as a citizen that you are talking crap about the police when they put their lives on the line to serve and protect us. Even though I agree that some cops can be really messed up sometimes, but not all are like that and in this case, it's fair and just. Sorry if I went off topic. I understand that you're not asking for sympathy, but rather asking for the penalty fee for carpool violation. I don't think you'll find the answer for not many people solo carpool and get caught.

I wouldn't count on the signs. They are super outdated. California probably got no money to update the signs.

why is it the cops fault? reminds me of a certain race that complains all the time, just use your race in court, it might just get you off!

Just for the heck of it, I Googled for some stuff. Actual fines may vary. Consult your local revenue collecting office.

Nothing pisses me off more when I'm lawfully using the carpool lane and I see someone "sneak in" into the lane without an extra passanger. I feel as though its the same thing as cutting in line. Everyone else has to suffer the traffic jams...what makes you any different?

P.S. edit, yes, I heard the fines are costly. Although I feel as though $800 is a bit excessive. I doubt yours will cost $800. I velieve thats for repeat offenders or during rush hour or something...
