Where's a good place to practice drifting
 

Anyone know of any huge parking lots abandoned airports ect
In socal that one can practice drifting at without attracting attention from the public or authorities.

Wal-mart, 4 am LOL
Or come to NY and I will show you some spots

I would but a decent sized area that Doesn't have poles or cops are hard to come bye
Anything local to social would be nice

i once made a thread looking for drift spots but they all tell you to take it to the track haha.
Don't want to risk of the cops taking your car away

I bounce back and fourth between Ventura and San Diego
I figured that would be the typical response on here I just wanna ace to practice in peace
Not street race or anything and I'd prefer not to gbe to pay $$ just to practice

a car banging off the rev limiter doin burnout will attract cops anywhere in a short amount of time!

really you can practice drifting whereever you go. merging traffic, off ramps, parking, every lane change. just gotta see your daily drive as a drift course.

PRACTICE drifting when merging traffic, lane change and parking seem like a movie to me.

I knowba good place in sd by the navy base wide empty streets no traffic really... no cops plus theres a parking lot and a roundabout all to its self as well.. its pretty awsome.. i go there when i want to play around

Just take it to the track.. Impound and wreckless tickets are expensive!!!!

honestly, you have plenty of options at your local tracks! Adams is like 20 bucks an hour...or friday nights from 6-9 for $30. You can also go to the skid pad at Willow Springs for $40 all day!

There's no excuse for practicing drifting on city streets endangering the lives of my family and friends...its just plain reckless!

couldnt find anything about $40 at willow springs, only thing i saw was $100 a day for the balcony testing

Even if they upped their prices to 100 a day, thats way cheaper than reckless tickets. And way cheaper then hurting someone else..

Im a Nasa member, and only do any type or car activity that would be considered reckless on the track. Its much cheaper than a law enforcement handing you a court date for a reckless driving charge!

and light posts, i remember seeing a 350z take one out

if they have walls and light poles, then it's not for a beginner haha.

lol i know a dude who tried that.... he totalled his car. he doesnt drift anymore but he's a pretty skilled time attack driver now :bowrofl:

Adams is definitely not a PERFECT place for beginners. Turns are Extremely Small, but to each their own... and i agree with the going to work your race track ! :thumbsup:
