Default Swirls in Paint Advice

Looking for some advice on removing swirls from my Z, its a 2008 Black and the swirls are quite bad. My car was a previous lease and you can tell that they only took it to the Auto Car Wash. Ouch!!! Its time to take care of it since i will have extra money after i get out of afghanistan. Looking for some good places that can buff these out. I dont really want to attempt it my self dont want to rish my paint job, plus i love my car and want her looking nice again, shes been neglected over the past year.

DIY, it is not that hard to do. Look up Detailed Image in the cleaning and detailing threads. They have all of the stuff to help get out them swirls, also they can answer any questions you have. I have an SB 05 Z and their products are really good and I wish I did not waste my money on other 'so called' good detailing products.

You would need to drop a few hundred bucks to do it yourself, basically what it would cost to have a pro do it. But once you have all of the stuff, you can do it again.

Thanks for advice, will look into getting my own detailing items. Only thing is i have a bad scruff from when a car swiped my back end, its just a little of his paint on mine, tried to clay bar it made it like 50% better but want to see if a detail would assist with this as well. but mostly need it buffed for all the swirls in the paint from auto car washes.

Seriously, read through some articles at detailed image, spent about $250-300 and you can buff your car, seal the paint and have it look brand new again and keep it that way.

Paint sealant is the way to go, it's a little bit of an initial investment, but totally worth it.
Sealant makes your car look freshly waxed for months.

It's not hard and pretty much idiot proof with a random orbital buffer

Honestly get this. I do tons of research on detailing product for the diy and this stuff is amazing!!! So much easier then the foam pads. I wouldn't really bother with the wax I would go with something a little slicker. But you can probably get a whole package to do everything yourself for around $400 and be able to do it time and time again.

And do yourself a favor read and follow all the guides on that site and your car will love you for it.

Yes. If there is damage to your clear coat that your finger nail will catch on, you will never be able to get it back to 100%. You can lightly wet sand and buff it and get it to maybe 80%. If it's just a light scuff or paint transfer, it can be buffed off (or lightly wet sanded and buffed off).

I'd look into getting everything for the Meguiars 105 and 205 "system".

That system in my link above is safer, cleaner and easier alternative to the M105/M205. It just came out recently. They have spent a few year perfecting it.

You can use one pad for your whole car if you just blow the dust off it every once and awhile.

get the Porter Cable and some Zaino ZPC (www.thezainostore.com). mine had HORRIBLE swirls when i purchased it. in fact, i watched the dealership wipe it down with a bath towel as i pulled up

i had no prior experience before using the PC/Zaino, just watched this video from Junkman

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgB3V29QeDM

have you used this kit? would you also recomend getting a m105/205 system for deeper scatches. Read alot of the guides and it all depends on your paint hardness, dont know how hard the 350z paint is. Wondering what system gave you the best results.

If you read the comments section of the article for the new system, he seems to suggest that it's not a bad idea to have both.

It does work very good. I don't have deep swirls so it's hard to say if you would need to do the m105. But it did do a very good job at quickly getting rid of those. I've noticed that some people think their swirls are worse then they really are.
