Hello Houston forum.

I'm probably going to be moving to west Houston (close to Katy) in April. I currently have a TN turbocharged 350Z on a stock motor.

Because I live in Commiefornia, I never got to the extent of building the motor but since I am moving to a more free state, eventually I would like to build the motor and get a new F/I system.

First post I was for SGP Racing but it looks like they ran into trouble many years ago. Can anyone refer me to a good shop with, if possible, good pricing and quality service? The level or work would obvioulsy need to be capable of engine tear downs, installation of core parts, dyno tuning etc.

I utilized shops such as TechnoSquare and GT Motorsports while in CA with good results so I am looking to find comparable shops in TX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Did some more searching and Awesome Z seems to be capable of the services I will need in the future. Any other places?

I use J Tran Motorsports. They did my stillen supercharger, methanol injection and tune got me 423 to the wheels. Now they are doing my LS swap. We have a local club here called Houston Z 's. Most of them use J Tran.

How long has their site been down? Most of the time when I have a minute its a work and would rather avoid discussing personal automotive infront of the office folk. Do they have an email?

Went to jtran motorsports on June 12 to get my tubo install for a 350z. When they put on the dyno for testing the engine blow up! They don’t want to fix their mistake. Stay away from this ghetto as shop! Also notice their prices are higher than everyone else in town.

The newest 350Z out there is 6 years old. I don't think there are any performance shops that are going to guarantee your 6+ year old car can handle FI. Specifically, how was it their mistake?

Suspension Work:

Shop Name:
Gas Head Motorworks
Location: 1140 Lumpkin Rd, Houston, TX 77043
Phone: (713) 461-7575
Owner: Clint

Experience: He installed my camber arms and aligned for a bit less than 3 bills. He also installed the header, sway bars and roll bar in my Miata. As much racing shop as typical shop, he's got very loyal Miata customers. Last time I was there he had a BL Mini, a 911 and a couple of Vettes in various states of change as well as a couple of race Miatas he owns.

Looking to buy a 350z soon in Houston. Any recommendations for mechanics around here who are very familiar with the car that I could take a potential purchase to for an inspection?

Angry Help needed!

I need a realistic estimate from a shop that actually knows a z owner’s expectations when dealing with body work. Background : a family member sideswiped my baby and back quarter panel is damaged. Few other things also but State Farm is wanting to bondo and blend to cover the repair. Not happening. A new quarter panel most likely since the damage is on the lines. No way that SF ESTIMATE of $913 will make her whole again. I need someone trustworthy and has Z knowledge. Plz help (I am in Houston by energy corridor)
