So for my birthday i got my belts on the harness bar and made a small welder rack for the mig. Now if I could just make the welds look like they do on TV I'd be happy. Fun practicing but frustrating.

Well shiet, I went and picked up that bolt from nissan today and its the wrong fugging bolt 
I'm not even gonna waste my time getting my money back though since it was only a dollar. Cost me more in gas to return it lol. R1forever, pm me your number since i suck at putting pics on the forums and i will text you a picture of the bolt. that or send me an email and i will send it that way. whichever you prefer is fine by me.

Steidz thank you for sharing your experience on the alignment numbers and tire pressures - i may try to read a bit on these re11's before track day to see if i can juggle any logic out of the internetz -

305's very nice, I'm currently looking for an inexpensive commuter car....is it bad I'm looking at WRX and Evo's lol
Sweet- I liked mine. You will notice a bit more peddle travel before they bit due to the bigger pistons but you wont have to push as hard to max out the brakes.
I am still game for the alignment get together. I havent had much extra time off on the weekends so my timing isn't great but still game.

I'm holding you to this alignment party! and Good job on the welding, I'm looking at your equipment and dont see gas, if you are using at flux core wire no gas and current from a plug its damn near impossible to get good looking welds, for you its all about penetration, but trust me it will hold!

Skrilla, my personal favorite for a commuter car that is cheap and gets awesome gas mileage would be a jetta tdi. people argue that diesel is more expensive, which it is, but the major increase in fuel economy more than makes up for it. If I were to get a new dd car, that's what it would be. I built and priced one the other day on vw's website and it was $25,850 fully loaded with nav for a new one. obviously it would probably be a bit more after dealer mark up but im sure you can find a good used one for well under $20k. And remember, it's a diesel, so it will run forever. A former coworker of mine drove his for 15 years and put 250k miles on it and the engine was still running fine and he did not keep up on his maintenance at all. He would go 25k miles before changing his oil and would never check on it periodically. I believe the service intervals for oil changes are less frequent as well, at least they were on my ram 2500 diesel that i had in kansas. 7500 miles if you drove off road alot or 15000 miles if you drove on road the whole time.

Well gents I may have been wrong about the bolt. I just found a diy and the guy bought new bolts that were a bit longer and he used 7/16-20 bolts. I guess that size and thread pitch is just very close to the m11x1.25 that i thought it was. I will try it out either today or when i get back this weekend and see if it works and will keep you updated. and yes I know I'm retarded for not searching earlier lol

Like i said earlier all the seatbelt bolts are 7/16 kinda weird when everything else in the car is metric. the bolts in the pillars, lower pillars, bolt on the seat holding the buckle and the rear seat belts bolts are all the same thread. When you get the eyebolts for the harnesses they are universal for most cars that i have seen

Oh got built engine on an engine stand today. Will have old engine on the other stand tomorrow and hopefully have the upper oil pan and greddy pan installed along with the t/c and valvecovers. I want it ready to drop in on sunday. Doin a single intercooler swap on sunday

yea I know the rig is basic and your going to get basic results. I still need better control on my speed and tip angle. I am all over the place sometimes. Nothing a few thousand feet of practice won't take care of
I am still up for the align party, i am thinking a saturday might be best for people. Dont know how many are really interested! May is shot for me as far as free time so maybe june.
Allstar just came by to checkout the jig and see what it takes to make one. Nice to meet you Eric and hope you make the AutoX.

skrilla, my wife loves her wrx - but it has a fully built motor wilwoods 6front 4rear coilovers full sti interior rays wheels bla bla bla...... its the family daily driver car but it gets track day duty as well -
