Actually I have had a rattle/rasppy sound coming from down there for a while now...usually just when it was cold...seemed to go away after it warmed up a bit.

Scott, I'm not sure why there is that much slack in the pipe....I would assume there is some play in the section of exhaust.

I think I found a shop in Lewisville to weld it up....I called them and told them what was wrong and said it shouldn't be much more than $35 bucks to weld....as long as it isn't to complicated.

So, how does that work? You blow into it to be able to start the car, or it doesn't at all?

correct, to start the car and randomly... its just a starter interrupt and has its flaws. my asthma inhaler will fail me because it is alcohol based, mouthwash will fail me, and with a standard you can push and start your car.... not to mention you can unplug the handset while driving... BUT it all does register IF the probation officer knows how to read the report correctly. i had to push my car to start it a couple times because my battery died, my officer said it never showed up that i did

So I took off the mid pipe tonight .... it almost fell off after I took the rear bolts out ! Because the front was already off....

Just had to slide it off the hanger in the center. Pipe is in good condition...just need those welds to hold better.

I need new gaskets also....anybody have some laying around ?

Looks like it just was a faulty weld and after time it just got weak and cracked off.....

......OR...Lol.....maybe it was just my INTENSE driving of track events that caused it to split !

That has to be it, NO other good reason for it to break.

Fith - I was thinkin loose worn wobbley motor mounts cause more "movement" bendy parts weak/older welds etc on exhaust might come loose - if you haven't looked at them i guess it wouldn't hurt - i'd assume they are some sort of rubber - but maybe nissan used aluminum motor mounts though - i know for the supra i had to buy TRD motor mounts -

Chris' broken exhaust sounds better than your custom exhaust.

I honestly never liked the nismo exhaust. Over priced, still heavy, still a fake dual exhaust and really didn't make much of a sound difference imo. Chris'does sound good with his hfc's though. Actually pretty loud though. I honestly loved my exhaust, especially after i put the headers on.

^ Because racecar?

Here's my best run from yesterday's autox. I did forget to downshift at one of the turns and you can hear me going 3-2 well after a turn in the video, lol. The car was pretty squirrelly, too, compared to my 2nd and 3rd fastest runs.

And here's an in-car vid from the morning session when the course was still damp for ***** and giggles. I had just made this headrest camera mount so I wanted to test it out.

Just messin with ya man. LOL

If the Nismo catback wasn't already on my car when I bought it I would have done something different. I like it enough to not worry about changing it up though.

Chris - I like the roof mount view much better than headreast mount.

Ok so I looked at the PCA Maverick website to confirm... there is a time trial at Motorsport Ranch on the 14th and it's only $75. I'd like to do this event. Should I have a spare set of brake pads?

the 1.3 funness - doubtful you will need a spare set - short hard braking at slow speeds on that section
