I was there that same day. He was running low 11s during time trials, I heard.

I guess that 10 sec run was at night just before closing time when I was changing my tires. Congrats. I liked that black color more than the red one (which I knocked off the bracket racing on my first round ) or the gray one who was there to spectate.

The red one is from Baton Rouge...

Ran a 11.75@120 without launch control.

He told me he was using launch control and he's been getting consistent 11.7/8ish. That's why he dialed in 11.75.

The very left timeslip was me vs. the red one.

I thought I was gonna lose for sure. He caught up quick, too. Damn.. I loved the way they sounded going down the track.

The black one was doing consistently better in every single run compared to the red one.

Either the driver lied to the owner or the driver doesn't know what launch control is

The owner had posted about it on a local forum out here.

The driver wasn't the owner? He was in multiple classes that day. He lost all of them, but ran a lot. He was consistently pulling high 11s throughout the day (11.6 was his best, I think) with a few 12s whenever he probably forgot to turn on the launch control.

If the same guy was driving the red GT-R then it wasn't the owner.

"On the same day, Micah also reset the record for bone stock GTR not using launch control.... 11.75 @ 120 mph!"

Posted by the owner of the car so I dunno

Who the hell's gonna believe that? "Oh, that was without launch control."

Yeah, I set the record that same day for half-throttling down the track and skipping 3rd while spraying exactly 23.1 shot of nitrous in just the 5th cylinder.. 12.52 @ 110.

Like I said... maybe it was some miscommunication between the two.

Whatever makes you happy though being that you don't know either of them

Well, like I said, I spoke to the driver and he said he was. Then I raced him only to see the same high 11s out of him and the car.

I just don't like it when people have the need to lie. At any rate, the black GTR was awesome and I respect the red GTR for racing, also. The gray one just sat far off in the parking lot.

Yeah I remember hearing Micah something named in the red GTR. Must not have been the owner according to Blasian's find. Chris can always brag that he beat that GTR.

That black one was sweet. I wonder what it would do with the proper wheel and tire setup.

I highly doubt the owner "meant" to lie.

All day I saw the Evos bog their launches. I'm not sure how the GTR would do with stickier tires. Anybody from the GTR forums know what happens with the launch control when the GTR is launched on slicks?

And yes, I did beat it fair and square. That was a great race, regardless of who won, though.

And maybe he didn't mean to lie. It doesn't matter. He's still cool in my book for racing a brand new car in multiple classes, not to mention driving all the way from LA.

Micah was the driver and Cliff is the owner. I believe Cliff runs IFO, at least he runs the events in Louisiana.

Willing to place bets if needed

Give me the same car and see who runs better. Bench racing FTL.

BTW, can you answer my previous question about GTRs on slicks with launch control? That is, does it compensate for the extra grip?

I didn't get to go to the event out here but I know it was tracked there. I've never formally met Cliff but I do know the driver Micah. Both are pretty cool guys though.

Honestly I have no idea. I don't think anyone has ever tried to run the 1/4 with slicks (if anyone is brave enough )

I did hear from some of the guys here that the Cobb GT-R ran an 11.2 but I honestly have no idea what tires it was using but I thought it ran R-Comps for time attack so who knows
