Bolt on's + wideband results...please look..
Hello everyone...
I was curious if I should purchase a re-flash or some sort of engine management after I verified my wideband results today...I have a 2004.5 Z with the following mods; ... jwt intake, fujitsubo y-pipe back exhaust, helix testpipes, and an AAM plenum spacer...My a/f from 2500 rpm to about 5500 rpm's stayed anywhere from 14.4-14.0 and from 5500 to redline it gradually started to richen up from about 14.0-13.6.... I realise a perfect tune would be required for optimal reliability and power, but does this sound to far out from a decent tune or more importiantly to lean to sacrifice damaging my engine at all??? This was verified on the street with a plx wideband and outside temp was approx 70 degrees with about 30% humidity....Thanks for any help and/or suggestions...:) |
you can pull more power out of it for sure. that is what most all of the cars do with mods or stock.
i would call julian up at MRC and drive to jersey to have him tune a utec for ya!! |
your a/f sounds near perfect...

I guess its safe to say that I'm not hurting my engine running these a/f ratios??? Oh and by the way, I pulled my secondary 02 sensor to put my w/b sensor in, but left the secondary plugged in and tied up out of the way...Ok to check this way?? I was pretty sure the rear 02's couldnt alter a/f in any way...I did NOT get a cel for the brief time the sensor was out... thanks!! |

14.5 is a wee bit on the lean side, but it won't do any damage on an NA setup. I personally like to be slightly lean cuz it's great on gas, especially on the highway. I even hit slight over at 15 @4k, if I can remember correctly and low 14is on high rpm. |
